Description Background
Ta loves the applause of a crowd. His showmanship skills are quite refined…for a golem. Unfortunately, his magical ability and uncreative golem mind didn't get him far in the world of stage magic. After months of depression, Ta is much happier now that he finally realizes he was designed to provide protection rather than amusement. He still strives for the attention of his teammates and bystanders and sometimes takes foolish risks to gain it. Luckily, his dense, black obsidian skin keeps him from becoming seriously harmed when his thirst for glory overcomes his formidable combat skills. Ta and his golem "brother", Da, were created by a master magician. Their names were derived from the first words they heard upon creation (Ta-Da!). They were meant to be servants and protectors of their master but a rival magician killed Da and their master. Ta escaped only to extract vengence a month later. After avenging his master, he turned to the only other occupation he had ever known, magic. Unfortunately, he was not blessed with much natural ability so began touring with simple stage tricks. Mere slight of hand got him by for awhile but his crowds quickly became bored and attracted to his more awe-inspiring competition. Penniless and depressed, Ta joined up with a band of adventurers who were passing through town in search of excitement and meaning.
