Description Background
Nockmaar is fairly large for a Wolfen, but nondescript by Human standards. He has a lean, athletic build and tends to blend in and almost disappear when in the company of others. Upon closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that despite his fairly young age, he has a full head of grey hair and his eyes are a reddish color. He normally dresses in simple leathers unless geared for battle, when he dons a suit of mithril plate armor. A broadsword is strapped to his back, covered by a tattered black cloak, and an Elven spear is his constant companion in his hand. Nockmaar is never one to waste breath on unneccesary words, and never speaks unless he feels he absolutely has to. He is calm in the face of battle, and a champion of those who can’t protect themselves. This compassionate nature often gets him into trouble, when he places himself in situations that at the least are none of his business and at the worst way over his head. Nockmaar remembers very little of his youth. His earliest memories are being raised in a monastary where he was apparently abandoned as a young child. The monks there taught him of the sanctity of all life and to be a friend of nature. It wasn’t until Nockmaar’s natural abilities began manifesting himself that the missing pieces of his life began to come together. Whenever he found himself growing afraid or angry, he would begin to change into a great grey wolf and ravenously attack anyone within sight. When the monks realized that he wasn’t a demon sent from the netherworld to destroy them, but a frightened young man with abilities beyond his comprehension, they taught him how to control his emotions and his transformation abilities. It became apparent that Nockmaar’s parents, who were also Wolfen, were being hunted by some local villagers and didn’t want their child to suffer their fate. Leaving the child on the doorstep of the monastery, they fled into the night, never to be seen again. When Nockmaar had learned to control his abilities, he left the monastary and became a Ranger, using his abilities to heal and aid others.
