Cid is tall and slender, and fair of countenance. His facial features seem rather pointed and birdlike, with a nose that is slightly longer and sharper than a normal human's and large eyes. His large white wings nearly
brush the ground when folded against his back, and span over ten feet when in flight. His long blond hair is pulled back into a tight ponytail, the better for aerodynamic flight. His movements are smooth and graceful, both on the ground and in the air, and his serene face gives him an almost angelic appearance. However, this calm and peaceful exterior carefully conceals a lethal and remorseless killing machine with no regards whatsoever for orc-folk of any kind. It takes very little to provoke him to a murderous rage when confronted with the atrocities of Orcs, and those who know him are quick to avoid his volatile temper and the lethal precision of his trademark throwing knives. |
Cid was raised in a noble family in the mountains of Kavlin,
groomed from an early age to take his place in his eyrie's council of elders. His childhood was carefree, as his family and eyrie were fairly wealthy, and he grew accustomed to many wondrous treasures that his family posessed. One day, while he was practicing some new maneuvers on the thermal currents rolling off the mountains, an Orc raiding party descended on the eyrie, lured by tales of the fabulous wealth of the bird-people. Cid returned just in time to see his
family slain before his very eyes and his home put to the torch. A sudden rage boiled within him and, seizing a small hunting knife at his belt, he hurled it at the Orc-chieftan, striking him dead between the eyes. The other Orcs turned
to meet this new threat, but their arrows and javelins were in vain against the nible and swift Azththrin who dealt death at will, striking dead any Orc within reach. When he had hunted down and slain every member of the raiding party, Cid vowed to slay every Orc that came within reach to avenge his family's murder. He took to hiring himself out as a
hit-man, as he takes special pleasure in slaying Orcs in positions of power and leadership. Not suprisingly, there are plenty of employment opportunities on the mainland, and he makes many flights to Khaz Modan, returning with the head of yet another victim. |
