Description Background
Baruch is short and wiry, with bristly brown fur and beady black eyes. His nose and whiskers are constantly twitching, and his stubby ears turn this way and that, searching for any hidden attackers. He is normally very sparing when it comes to clothing, save for a fancy hat and headband that once belonged to his father. Weapons fairly drip from his body, slung from various slings and scabbards wherever there is room. Jittery and high strung, he can never concentrate on one task for too long without something else distracting him. Baruch comes from an extremely wealthy family in Ratling society who provided his every need and desire. The downside was he was forced into many different schools, academies, and other institutes of higher learning, all of which failed to capture his short attention span. His father spent a fortune enrolling him in dozens of schools, attempting to interest him in any one of a number of respectable disciplines. As a result, Baruch possesses a number of impressive but (to him, anyway) useless skills. Finally, to his family's everlasting embarrassment and horror, he dropped out of school and decided to pursue the only career that could hold his attention: Swordplay. He ran away to Stromgarde and enrolled in Master Firrow's Swordsmanship Institute, an elite fencing school. Although Master Firrow saw much potential in Baruch, his short attention span once again denied him the benefit of staying on at the fencing school and learning more. He decided he had learned enough for the present and began to wander, seeking employment with whoever would hire him and testing his skills against whomever would accept a challenge. He was recently hired by the Horde as a swordsmanship instructor, although his own sword skills are hardly impressive. He feels indebted to Master Firrow and now longs to return to Stromgarde, but his masters in the Horde refuse to allow him to return to Azeroth.
