I am glad to see you all up and alive. Please sit down and have a beer with us, while I try to explain to you what has happened lately. If my memory is accurate, the last thing I told you was the demise of Shal, our elven wizard in this accursed dungeon. We decided to summon a lifebringer, but even Baldorīs servant wasnīt able to raise our comrade from the dead. So we moved on, abandoning our quest and leaving that dungeon. Then disaster struck again. Merimir, the husband of Shal was killed while we fought a horde of undeads. We recovered his body and hurried back in the nearest city to resurrect the couple. However, one foggy and cold night at the campfire I had a vision. Well, it was definitely more than just a dream, although it felled like one, with the difference that I was wide awake. Merimir and Shal approached me and they looked unbelievably happy. Merimir, whom I saw last as a broken man, smiled calmly and said that we should not try to disturb their eternal rest. Their time has come, early indeed, but it was fate that sent the loving ones to death, not just the arrows of a skeleton. In the next morning we decided to give the elves back to the nature where they belong to and we buried them in a small forest. Whatever will happen till I die, or even afterwards, I will not forget them. Finally we made our way back home to Munsk. After some training we looked for additional wits and muscles and found them in Gandalf, an elven wizard, Binora, a dwarven fighter and in Merimir, an elven warrior mage. Yes, you can trust your ears, my friends. His name is just the same as that of our fallen comrade, what a coincidence! We decided to help the townsfolk of our fair city and therefore we took on some quests, killing six apes, a jack-o-man, and a water elemental. All these quests brought us a measure of fame as well as some coins. Currently, as you can count quickly, we are thirteen members, but yesterday Beregard stumbled upon a sturdy dwarven warrior. We hope to recruit him soon. It has become quite necessary, since we were outnumbered in each of our mock battles here at the arena. We couldnīt win a single fight, but managed to learn a lot of our opponents tactics, as well as recognizing the fact that we are still to few. Well thatīs it. I hope life treats you kind, my friends. May our roads cross again, soon. Garthrana may bless all of you, so that your swords and wits are always that little bit quicker than that of our enemies.
May this letter reach you in fine spirits. I ended the last letter to you with the remark that we are currently looking for some quests to serve our gods. Well, we found a quest. Some townsfolk approached the local temple of Garthrana and asked if we could eliminate a giant for them. We quickly and unwittingly agreed and found our target just outside of Munsk. Never ever in my whole life I will forget what then happened. As we approached the monster, weapons ready and yelling our war cry, with a single stroke of his enormous axe, this titan killed Morangast. Stunned in disbelieve for just a second Sor Corwin followed his fellow companion into death. Then we recognized the giant, for what it really was - a titan, a immortal demigod and we were foolish enough too attack it. We immediately retreated, but it was too late for Bloodaxe. Back in Munsk our bank account was broken, but the alliance as well as Maximo 20 characteres lend us enough money to resurrect our dead heroes. Up at full strength we vowed vengeance. We attacked the titan numerous times, with magic, ranged attacks and in melee combat. The giant was totally immune to magic, shaking of half a dozen engulfing globes, death spells, fireballs and more. While we managed to injure the monster seriously, Marcius was killed. As it was with the former deaths, also this time, we couldnīt rescue more than our comradeīs dead body. All the equipment and his horse was gone. The Fellowship of Light paid back the money, we lent them a while ago and so we could resurrect Marcius. We pondered long about our options, but at last we decided that no human should dare to attack demigods. This quest has cost us much too much, so we abandoned it. Now we are in Munsk and are fighting fit and equipped again. We also have worked hard to collect enough money to repay our debts, something we will do very shortly, before we are leaving Munsk in pursuit of some gnolls, which have stolen a kettle. May the gods protect you. Yours, Zarrac Evilsbane High Wizard of the Lightbringers
