Pooka Outfit

Dates are in descending order.

8 February 2008:

I've been in love with my Pooka character for the Faerie Festival. Let me rephrase that... I've been in love with the idea of Pookas for a number of years and chose to be a Pooka for the Faerie Festival last year. It was such a nice costume and a great concept that I've wanted to delve into it even further, especially in costuming. The nice thing about the Pooka costumes are that they can easily be used as Mystic or Vagabond outfits for the Renaissance festival by leaving off certain accessories. At least... that's the plan...

Original concept.

At this point, I have the main cloth for the crocheted chemise, the 'cotte' coat, and the bolero. I also have the keys for the belt, but need to pick up some ivory colored crocheting twine (thick) and might need some more keys and nickknacks for it. I plan to add images to this page of the collected materials for the pooka outfit this weekend.

I have finished the necklace. I like it, but it's far less playful than I had hoped. I'm sure that once it's combined with the rest of the outfit, it will be just as I wanted.
