In the dim days of the Long Ago, Dark Times had befallen the DragrinLands. The mighty wizard, Banturoc, once the sworn Magical Protector of the Lands, had delved deeply into dark Magics, things best left untouched, and they had consumed him. He became cruel and mean and evil and forsook his Duties. And when it was found that he had stolen several Dragrin eggs to use in his evil Magic, the Lord-Warder did seek out the wizard in his own tower and give battle. They fought long and hard and bitterly, but Good will out and the Lord-Warder defeated Banturoc. The wizard was sent from the DragrinLands and banished away forever, and the eggs were returned to the Dragrins. But, as he was carried across the border and out of the Lands, Banturoc Cursed the Lord-Warder, swearing to take revenge for his defeat upon the Lords' newborn children! For, while he husband was off and fighting Banturoc, the Lady of the Laire did give birth to twins, Princess Heather and Prince Sean. Now, the Dragrins were very gateful to the Lord-Warder for his defeat of Banturoc and his rescue of their eggs, and it was decided that they would repay the Lord's deeds by protecting his children, that such a weighty worry need not be his. So, in his Place as First Dragrin, Chuckles called all the Dragrins together in a Great Conclave. As we all know, Dragrins, like their much larger kin Dragons, are Magical Creatures. And when they held Conclave, their Magic combines into one Great Magic which is at the Dragrins will to use. So, two of the rescued eggs, one female, one male, were brought to the Conclave and the Great Magic was used to create a new breed of Dragrin: the Guardian Dragrins. Winged to be swifter than the swiftest Magic Spell, eyes keen as the eagles to watch for evil deeds, sharp claw to catch and sharp tooth to eat the nightmares and bad dreams, and strenght and vigilence to be ever watchful over their Charges, the children they guard. All these things, the Great Magic gave the two eggs. And when the eggs hatched, the first Guardian Dragrins came forth to take up their Duty. Pink was the female, to please the eye of Princess Heather, and blue was the male to catch the attention of Prince Sean. And when Chuckles took the Guardians to the Lord and Lady and set the Dragrins to their Duty, the infants were delighted by their new friends. And the Lord and Lady were very pleased that the Dragrin would do such a Wonderful thing for them. But! The Lord and the Lady, being kind and loving rulers, knew they could not enjoy such special protection for their children, when their fears were the same as every other parent has for a child. So it was asked of Chuckles and the Dragrins, that the Guardian Dragrins be made available to any parent who wished such a staunch and valient friend for their child. And the Dragrins, seeing the Right of this, agreed. And so it came to pass that the Guardian Dragrins have watched over beloved children since that day.
