G1 Blitzwing

The "Triple Changers" were pretty incredible to me as a kid. I was completely impressed that a character could be 3 different toys! I remember Astrotrain more from the 80s, but presently it's Blitzwing that I like better. His modes are designed for combat rather than transport, and each one is quite convincing. Astrotrain's are good too, but there's a bit of "kibble" in each that detracts from the overall sleekness. Blitzwing has very little "kibble", and I would say that the only low point for this mold is the really odd feet in robot mode...if you can even call them that. They're terrible!!! But otherwise, this toy is really good, and I'm glad I was able to get one.

Blitzwing's packaging is noteworthy because the paper tray under the toy has a graphic of tank treads in the dirt, as well as an explosion from his tank cannon! Little details like these make the Takara TFC packaging really special.
