Name: Unknown. Possibly Howard Hunt, the CIA agent involved in Watergate and allegedly, the Kennedy assasination, as Lee Oswald calls him 'Mr Hunt'. Generally known as the Smoking Man.

D.O.B: Unkown. He 'appeared' on 20 August 1940 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Details: His father was a Soviet spy who was executed for passing information on America's entry into WWII to the Nazis. His mother was a smoker who died of lung cancer. He was orphaned as a baby and read a lot.

He 'disappeared' until October 1962. In that time he had become a captain in the US military, serving alongside Bill Mulder. He 'may' have been involved in a covert action in Central America in '61. He didn't smoke until November 1963. His first assignment for the conspiracy was to asssasinate JFK. His next was to assasinate MLK who he thinks is an 'extraordinary man'.

He dreams of being a writer and writes under the name of 'Raul Bloodworth'. His story, 'A Second Chance', was published in Roman a' Clef.

Now he is part of a consortium, with at least 8 other conspirators, and is in charge of 'security' for them. He is viewed by the other conspirators as their associate in Washington. He is a servant of this group, willing to lie to them to avoid exposing his failures (a sign of his fear of the conspirators). The Smoking Man uses violent methods of getting things done. He si possibly working with the CIA. He wants to be a 'commandent' ruling over his own people when the 'process' begins. X is the Smoking Man's 'lieutenant'.

He knows why Dana Scully was abducted and is responsible for it. However he helps heal Scully of her cancer which was a result of her abduction. He used to have lung cancer himself but was cured by Jeremiah Smith.

He used to hang out with the Mulders at their summer house. He knew the Mulder's children and knew Mrs Mulder before Mulder was born. Smoking man may have been Mrs Mulder's lover which would explain why he hasn't used violent solutions on Mulder. He also claims to have protected Fox until 'Anasazi' and intends to keep a personal eye on Fox Mulder.

Bill Mulder and 'Deep Throat' may be the Smoking Man's friends.

Other personal details: His address is 900 West Georgia Street (quite possibly moved). Speaks fluent German. Good water skier. His lighter is inscribed 'Trust No One'.
