Fiona Phillips played by Cara DeLizia
Fiona Phillips is a teenaged paranormal trouble magnet. She spends the first season living on a tour bus as her mom tries to pick up her long-abandoned musical career. In every town they stop in Fi manages to find a mystery - ghosts, gremlins, aliens, astral projectors, Bigfoot, time warps... Fox Mulder would be so envious. She tends to immediately believe in the most outrageous explanations without even considering the logical conclusions first. Lucky for her, she's generally right. It's also lucky for her that she has a big brother who may not always believe her theories... but who is always there to back her up or bail her out when she gets in over her head.
Fiona's fascination can be traced indirectly back to her father. Or more precisely... to her father's death. Rick Phillips was killed in an automobile accident when Fiona was only three years old. She barely remembers him, but wants desperately to know him. All of Fi's faith in the supernatural is based on her need to believe that her father's spirit is out there somewhere and that one day she'll be able to contact him.
After the rather cathartic experience of finally "meeting" her father in the second season finale "Twin" Fiona is able to let her active pursuit of the Unexplained rest for a while. In the third season opener "Lighning Rod" she decides to ease her mother's mind by going to live with her Aunt Melinda and the "Tornado Twins" in Seattle for a year. Although Fiona does not physically appear in any of the third season episodes (as far as I know at this point) she still manages to make her presence felt as she is mentioned weekly. Molly and Jack talk of phone calls to her. Annie and Clu converse with her via email and instant messaging. She may be gone, but she is not absent.
