Feeling Rejected

Driving out to the city
Feeling rejected by friends
Thoughts consume your attention
And here is where the thoughts end

The bike appears in front of you
By the time she sees it, he’s hit
He hits the street, she hits a wall
In a daze she checks what she’s hit
In a strange dream he says he’s fine
She helps him up, and he hugs her
Though still confused, she hugs him back
She’s never been hugged by a stranger

In the haze sirens can be heard
And soon the ambulance takes him
And officers she’s seen before
Ask her many questions ‘bout him
Standing still she feels so weak now
Someone asks her if she’s alright
She thinks the says yes, but her head
Is spinning and she can’t see right

As you slump to the ground
Someone catches your arms
They put you into a car
And ask you about the harms
You’ve done

As they drive her to the station
Her world goes black, she sees nothing
Not a thing can she remember
Except cold and wearing nothing
But it could just be a dream still
She was in a daze, after all
Police wouldn’t do that to her
But still it causes her to stall

Back at home you talk to them
Friends you thought rejected you
You tell them it was scary
He seems to want to help you
Maybe it’s OK.
