The Beauty of 3D

Less I can say about this. Certainly the words doesn't mean anything when we try to represent in 3D something as beautiful as the human physiognomy. And over all, if the person chosen to model has an spectacular smile such this one, it is no surprise the result is so impressive.

And I must to say this with lots of humility because the merit is not mine, but of the source of inspiration portrayed here, a friend of mine that I knew in Mallorca, during the Masters of Animation that I did there. My Muse, as I use to call her.

So that the result were the most realistic possible I used the photography to extract from it a texture that later would apply at the virtual head. I had to deform the photo with Photoshop and to create symmetry to obtain an acceptable image to work with (left). I applied it into a plane, in other words, projecting it on the face like a slide projector and also used as reference to model the face (right).

I used patches, interlaced vectorial curves that create a "solid" geometric surface when crossing. Finally I added the Pharaonic crown (also made with Patches) and ocular globes.

late I made a small animation that you can unload here.
