The Aughts are a large family of sprites who all have dusky gray skin and black hair.  They're all very close and take care of each other.  Their parents were killed by a rogue virus some years earlier.

Zilch is the oldest and the surrogate father figure.  He's a tall and muscular guy, a jocular sort, and makes his money as a champion hoverbike racer.  He's very attached to his siblings and would gladly walk through fire for them.  He generally wears a long dark coat, green-tinted goggles, and has a tendency to tack "hey?" on the end of some sentences.

Niente is the second oldest and Zilch's racing partner.  She used to be the "strong, silent" type, more of a fighter.  She then met Quinn Rentack and began to grow attached to him and began to come out of her emotional shell.  Like her brother Zilch, she's tall and tends to wear long dark coats, but she has some better fashion sense.

Naught, the third oldest in the family, is a hacker, half of the "Flip Side Felons" as "Aztral."  He's generally goofy and somewhat absent-minded.  He has a habit of "leaping" before he "looks."  Despite his flakiness, Naught will always come to his siblings' aid.  He drives the car of the family, and he's pretty attached to it.  (In other words, don't mess with the car.)  His hacking group's name comes from his parting quip, "See you on the flip side!"

Nada, the fourth oldest, is Naught's hacking partner, the other half of the "Flip Side Felons" as "Surf."  She's also Naught's opposite -- where he's flaky, she's level headed.  She covers for Naught's mistakes, and plays the surrogate mother for the rest of the family.  She looks after her younger siblings (and Naught, but that's beside the point) and is a very kind person.  She wears her hair in two long braids and is always there for her family.

Nil and Void are identical twins and teenagers -- not that good a combination since theey're prone to playing pranks.  Nil and Void are hoverboard junkies and will do almost anything for a laugh.  Like the rest of their older siblings, they're willing to go to great lengths for them.  Since they look alike, Nil wears red-lensed goggles to help differentiate between the two.

Blank and Zip are the two youngest of the siblings and generally the least seen in the fics.  They're both still in grade school, but are inseparable.  They have a habit of attracting trouble and catching hell from Zilch for it -- but they know his weak point is the "big soulful eyes" routine and can get out of most punishments.
