1966-1969, The first Star Trek Series, it started it all!

The Original Series started on a bad foot. The Captain would soon be replaced, along with the rest of the crew of the original Enterprise. The first person to take a seat in the captains' chair was Captain Christopher Pike. After the confusion and bad results of the pilot, creater Gene Roddenberry decided to get a new set of actors, and re-air the show. NBC was not to pleased with this. After all the critisism got over with, and the show re-aired, it started an epidemic, like nothing seen before.
Now in the Captains' chair was William Shatner, as Captain James Tiberius Kirk. The new doctor was Dr. Leonard McCoy(Deforest Kelly). The only character that didn't get bagged, was Leonard Nemoy, as Science Officer Spock. He now held the ranks of First Officer and Science Officer.
Throughout the 4 year of TOS, many milestones were made. The communicator led to the cellular phone. Many concepts of this series, were later transformed into plots for future series or movies. The episode "Space Seed" is a perfect example. They brought back Khan to ST II: The Wrath of Khan. After this series ended, everyone thought Star Trek was dead. But in a matter of fact, it had just begun. When a Star Trek convention was held, thousands of fans poured in. All of this hype, led to the first Star Trek feature film, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, all the way until the recent installment of Star Trek: Insurrection.
