1993-1999

The Series that started out slow, very slow, but by the end of season 4, it made a maraculous come back with the most space battle scenes and action in any ST series.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine:
This series started out so slow, it compelled me not to ever watch it. And I didn't. For the first 4 seasons or so, I didn't watch an episode. My friend was telling me it was starting to get good, so late in the 4th season I watched an episode. I loved it. I think it involved the Jem Ha'dar. I kept watching, and it kept me going and going. Soon I was hooked to it and couldn't miss an episode. In season 5, when the Dominion War started, I was just staring in amazement at the screen, as all that eyecandy flashed by in some of the famous award winning battle sequences. There were tons of them. I don't have the time or the space to write a detailed summary of what happened. Every episode something big and new happened (after season 4). I could write up 30 pages on it. So, I am just going to go over the highlights. DS9 took Star Trek a step further, expanding on the races The Next Generation introduced. This show took place on a space station, which was a big time different approach. This may have limited the show in some ways (being able to fly around and encounter new races) but was an advantage in quite a few ways such as Quark's Bar for example. The station could hold quite nicely in a firefight too. It could take along with dish out a hell of a lot more than a Galaxy Class ship could. Later in the show, when the experimental ship, USS Defiant came into the show,, and the Bajoran Wormhole came into big play, the show just kept getting sweeter.
As the storyline goes, in about Season 5, started a series of events that were kind of like this: The Dominion take over DS9 in big battle. The Federation retakes DS9 in big battle. The Dominion strike a deathly blow in Federation territory. The Fed. alliance retaliates. The DOM. allies with the Breen. The Breen use a energy dampening weapon and retakes the Chintaka system, destroying a fleet of FED, ROM, and KLG ships. The Defiant is destoyed by this weapon. FED alliance steals a ship equipped with the weapon and develops a countermeasure. Sisko and crew get a new Defiant class ship named the USS Saopolo. The FED alliance attacks like mad at the DOM alliance. While in battle, the Cardassions join the FED alliance and defeat the Dominion at great costs. Odo re-joins his people. O'Brien is now teaching at Starfleet Academy. Worf is Federation ambassador to Qo'nos(Kronos). On and on and on. That pretty much sums up the highlights of the last three seasons. The first 4, I don't know much about. I am sure there were some great episodes in the mix (such as, "The Way of The Warrier").
The great cast of DS9 is Captain Benjamin Sisko, Chief Security officer Odo, Tactical officer Worf, Colonel Kira Nerys, Dr. Julian Bashir, Chief of Operations Miles O'Brien, Lt.Cmdr. Nog, Jake Sisko.
The enemy main character were Head of Dominion Operations Weyoun, Legate Damar, Leader of the Cardassion union, Leader of the Breen Thot Gor, and Head Founder leader of the Dominion alliance.
