It's always a magnificent experience to find out how appreciated one is. Over the past weekend, I spent doing some volunteer work with fellow members of the psych club. Many of these people I had yet to meet. Yet a majority mentioned that I was the "elusive Jim," the officer that was never at a meeting. The members that I talked to seemed interested in the work that I did on the UPA website. I of them has even emailed me about wanting to be apart of assisting with the site. Also, they mentioned comments of how some of the officers mentioned about how much I had done and what a great job I was doing. I knew that what I had been doing was being apprrciated and helpful to the promotion of our program, but when you here is from others who barely know you is a truly remarkable feeling. Its that additional self-esteem builder that help pull you through those times when you aren't sure if what you are doing is making a difference or not.
