So, you really want to know about me, eh? Can't imagine why, but hey, it's your choice.
Well, let's see. My name is Julian Haase and I was born on December 1, 1980, and I'm originally from Germany. For the past 15 years or so I've lived in a little hicktown called Troy, which is quite pathetic, even by North Carolina standards. Well, maybe it's not that bad. Anyway, I graduated from West Montgomery High School on May 21, 1999, and now I'm a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Talk about a reality check. This place is like a million times more fun, but at a price. Calculus killed me, and Chemistry gave me a run for my money. But now I have easy classes like Geology, also known as Rocks for Jocks. But enough of that. You're not here to listen to me gripe. Or are you? Ummmm...I'm a huge sports fan, and I'll watch just about watch any sport, except golf. That's sooo boring.. I try to make it to the football games up here, and if I wasn't such a lazy bastard I'd go to a few basketball games as well. But I just don't see myself getting up in the middle of the night to stand in line and wait for tickets. And I really love picking on Jeff Gordon. I read a lot, and I still watch lots of cartoons, especially the Simpsons and Family Guy. Arg! They cancelled family guy or something. Bastards. But That 70's Show is pretty good. Gap (my roommate) has gotten me interested in DragonBall Z. At first I thought it was pretty stupid, but now I really like it. I'm a big Star Wars fan too, but then again, isn't everyone? Of course they are :) Ummmmm...what else is there? Oh, yeah, I'm a Biology major, and if calculus or chemistry don't kill me first (I SURVIVED!), I'll get a doctorate's degree in immunology, or at least that's the plan right now. If all else fails, well, I can always be a professional bum :) I've got a job here as a research lab assistant at the Bloom Lab. I work most weekdays before, between, and after classes. This generally means that my weeks are rather busy. At the lab I prepare media, pour agar plates, clean lab equipment (which means I wash like a MILLION dishes every day!), make photocopies, and autoclave equipment (put stuff in a REAL hot oven to sterilize it). And now I'm making $7.30 an hour! :) During the summers, I worked at GVK stacking boards with this really cool dude, Denny Brewer. You really have no idea how challenging the day of a professional board stacker can be (note the sarcasm). I doubt I'll work there anymore, since I plan on staying at UNC for the summer sessions as well. Before my board stacking days, I was Master of the Grocery Bag, Stocker of the Aisles, Sweeper of the Parking Lot. Yes, I was a Food King grocery bagger. Ahhh, the glory days. For four long years I carried groceries to cars in blazing heat, pouring rain, and the occasional snow flurry :) I play video games a lot, especially Freespace: The Great War, MechWarrior 3, Age of Empires I and II, and Diablo; I also spend lots of time on the internet (though not ALL day, like SOME people think, you can ask Chris if you don't believe me!). I have ICQ, which is pretty neat, so feel free to talk to me, but don't bother me if you suck.
I also have Yahoo!
Messenger, which I have grown to love.
The only reason I got Yahoo! Messenger was because Carmine, a friend of mine, who attends the Airforce
Academy in Colorado, wasn't able to get anything else. On Messenger I go by
emperor_ju.
Quite appropriate, don't ya think? Ah, and now I have MSN Messenger and AOL
Instant Messenger as well. And indeed they do suck. Though MSN is actually pretty
good now. AOL still sucks though. Always will I think. Future plans? Not real
clear on those yet. I'll conquer the world someday (yes, go ahead, laugh, your
time will come), and me and my lunch table buddies will rule with a vengeance. Woe to those who oppose us.
Well, there's really not much else to tell, since I never really got involved
in school activities, 'cause I never really saw the point. Well, I guess I can
share some of my opinions with you, and if you don't like 'em, well, you'll
get the hell over it, and if you don't, I don't give a damn.
