Central Ohio has its share of well-known haunted places--almost entirely in Columbus. To be honest, most of them are pretty lame. To me, any place that has guided tours and thousands of visitors a year can't be too scary. To take a look at some famous local ghosts, click below.

Well-Known Central Ohio Ghosts

What I really try to focus on are the relatively unknown places--the out-of-the-way places the Columbus Dispatch never mentions in its obligatory "Columbus Hauntings" articles every October. Not that every one is haunted--they probably aren't. But they are pretty cool places to check out anyway. From my hours in the Local Interest section at the library and conversations with different people I've compiled sort of a "to-do" list of haunted or abandoned places I plan to visit in the near future. You might want to check some of these out too. (But if you do, be sure to write to me and tell me about it.)
