Latte: Why not laugh?
Hallway By Kat O.

I am speeding down the hallway
At breakneck speeds
Crossing the Sound Barrier
Zoom!
For I am late
And my Class is Science.
Science is the class
That some don't like
Because the teacher assigns
An excess of projects.
I'll bet you have a class like that.
I rush in
The bell rings just as I enter.
The teacher is introducing us
to her new boyfriend.
He is the plastic display skeleton.
His name is Joe, and his jaw falls off.
I'll bet he's not much a kisser.
After science, I run back out
But for a different reason.
It is the end of the day.
Friday!
I think Fridays would be more appropriately
acknowledged
If they dropped confetti and balloons
From the ceiling at 3:10.
I know I'd love them even more
If that were possible.
But this was a poem about hallways.
So I'd better get back on the topic.
People are pushing and shoving each other as
They scramble toward the unwarshed glass doors.
The prison gate have given way, and if you were to
Stand outside, you would see a sea of people in
School Uniforms, the students black and white
striped out fits, to use a metaphor.
I run onto the bus
But alas, I was to late. Seat 5 is taken!
My Seat! My Seat!
Shakespeare Homework By Jenny M.

This pile as big as the Great China Wall
If I write one more word, I think it will fall
This pile of nonsense is making me rush
To turn my brains into Shakespearean mush

"Romeo! Romeo! Where for art thou?
I'd fly off this terrace, if you'd just show me how!
"Tis but thy name that makes my roses die.
If you turn into poison, maybe I wouldn't cry!"

"Get thee to a nunnery! Or your roses I will take!
If you fly off this terrace, you'll fall into a lake!
"If not, join me in fencing, and the poison you will find.
As for this playwright, tis time to unwind!"
School's Out Forever!

Clock go faster won't you please?
Put me out of my misery,
Make the school bell ring out true,
Please please please I beg of you,
The tick of your hands forever slowing,
When all I want is to get going,
Out of this lethargic state,
So that this day can just vacate,
From my mind assignments prey,
Upon my level of stress this day,
All I want to do is sleep,
I am so bored I want to weep,
Or throw something at that infernal clock,
But then perhaps time would stop,
Ring! Ring! Thank God the bell has rung,
So that this day is finally done.
School's Out! By Kat O.

The confetti and balloons
Dropped from the leaky ceiling tiles
At school the other day

For we knew
That that was the last
That we would have to stay!

But the end of school
Held a surprise appearance of a
Refreshment stand!

Also, a cameo
Elvis sighting

Die, Elvis, die!!!!
I refuse to believe
You dwell in my toilet paper, too!

The tears were shed quickly
To make way for the revelry
And of course, the parties follow!

Fire is a fun way
To celebrate the ending of school!
But please do NOT
Try this at home!

Do you know what happens when pyromaniacs
Band together and celebrate
The prison gates squeaking open at long last?

Parties Parties Parties!
Await the end of every week
As people desperately try
To associate with people
Other than their parents
In the hazy summer days.
The Ceiling Fan Light By "The Poet of Shan'Derel"

There is a light atop my ceiling fan
It sits their day and night
It has always been reliable
More so than is the sun
Yet one dark and dreary day
That ceiling fan light started blinking!
I could not believe it
But twas before my very eyes
It sat there as if normal
But no more was their a steady light
I sat there staring, thoughts running through my head
Mostly like ”Damn, now I must replace that stupid light!”
