XENOMORPH ENCOUNTER 1
The Xenomorph was first discovered
after a company deep space probe passing through the Zeta 2 Reticuli system. The
probe detected an analog acoustic signal, repeating every twelve seconds in an unused
waveband just above the hydrogen line from the second moon of Zeta 2 IV. The probe
recorded 3 cycles then relayed them back to the Weyland-Yutani labs for analysis.
The signal was deciphered to be a warning from an unknown race to stay away from the
planet due to some sort of parasite. The company decided to defer the next returning
transport through that sector. The Nostromo 180286 was this ship, due to standard
mother programming the ship dropped to sublight speed and defrosted the crew.
The ship landed on the planet and Captain Dallas, Navigator Lambert and Executive Officer Kane went to investigate According to warrant officer Ripley and Dallas account , the vessel was large - possibly several hundred meters in length and was crashed, embedded in the surface. The ship and the description wasn't clear it was asymmetric and shaped like a 'hook' or part of an arch. It was also ribbed and striated. Dallas also described an alien 'crewmember' there was no exact description but the creature was obviously inhuman and had been dead for some great period of time - the corpse had completely calcified, and appeared to have died from a large exit wound in its thorax.
There is little description of the egg chamber below the crewmember's podium and Kane's approach. After being attacked Kane was rushed back to the Nostromo, Ripley refused them entry to the shi for quarantine reasons, but our science officer ash overruled her. Kane's body was taken to the infirmary and cut out of his suit.
