Moose and Squirrel's X-Files Website Reviews

Moose: And as we finish the first holiday of the summer, Moose and Squirrel *still* found time to review X-Files Sites. Trust me, I'd rather be on vacation with Squirrel, but duty calls.

This week's first duty The X-Files Compilation is a dandy little spot on the WWW. I normally don't like sites that are heavy into frames, but this site is just so damn nice that it's not a problem for me at all. Lots of goodies here!

Squirrel: The frames make it slow loading for the first time, but you're right - there is a ton of info here, so stick with it!

M: Among the real pluses are the character "bios". I believe the author failed to give full details about two of the extras in the dance scene in PMP, but those are the only ones missed. Really well researched and nicely written. Actually, I'm very impressed with the writing here. It's apparent that a lot of time went in to the bios, with some serious looking and re-looking at each episode of the series. If for no other reason, then this is the best reason to visit this site. Nicely done, and a place on the web I'll be visiting more than once.

S: The author has also devoted an incredible amount of time to the music of the X-Files. There is a complete music section, and one of the really neat things there are the lyrics to both "Songs In The Key of X" and the soundtrack album from "Fight The Future". I'm also very fond of the "Isms" section…

M: Good photos, nice wavs, news and links. A good site!

S: The pages are all nicely assembled, with text and images interspersed. Excellent way to while away a rainy afternoon or two…

M: Ever wonder if maybe your devotion to the X-Files was a bit much? Oh, don't worry about it. Just log onto The Church Of The X-Files and worship to your heart's content!

S: Actually, first of all go to "The Basement" to make sure that you're addicted *enough* before you look at the other sections!

M: It takes some sick and twisted humans to take a popular television show and create a cult-like web site about it. It's our luck that these sick and twisted human beings have a wonderful sense of humor and are willing to take the chance on such an outrageous joke. This one is a big antler's up from Moose!

S: Yeah, it's pretty silly.

M: Yup, Sunday School, a "Bible" the chance to talk with other members of the congregation and view holy relics. One of the "fun" sites this show has spawned.

S: One of my favorite sections is "Speaking in Tongues"… And you must not miss the "Chapel of Love"!

M: Nice graphics (love the "buttons") and some nice jokes. Most of which have been thought through and followed to the logical, if irreverent, conclusion.

S: I particularly like the little animated cartoons and cute banners in the various sections. Love the one for Hell…"please no screaming before 6:00 a.m."!

That's it for this now…wish I was off to plan more weekends away with Moose, but alas….it's back to work! As always, you can email us at moosnsqril@aol.com with site recommendations or comments! See you next week!
