Japanese Name: Tarans *Profile: Tarantulas was one of the original members of Megatron's crew who stole the Golden Disk from the Maximals. Tarantulas is a powerful enemy both in body and in mind. He is often considered one of the creepiest of all Predacons. He likes to chuckle to himself often without saying anything else, making others nervous as he formulates his plans inside his insane head. In battle, he laughs like a maniac as he relishes a physical battle as well as mental ones. Tarantulas is skilled in melee combat, stealth and possesses an odd sixth sense rarely seen in Transformers. Tarantulas was responsible for choosing Blackarachnia's beast mode and initially developed a strong interest in her, seeing that her intelligence and strength rivalled his own. The two conspired with each other to the point where Tarantulas took over Blackarachnia's mind for a brief period through a "psychic link". TRANSMETAL TARANTULAS  
Sub Group: Transmetal Beast Mode: Mechanical spider Vehicular Mode: Motorcycle Profile: After the destruction of the Vok planetary destruction device, the resultant quantum surge revived and mutated Tarantulas' body. At this time, Tarantulas himself was inside the mind of Blackarachnia. With some reluctant help from Blackarachnia, s/he took Tarantulas' new body back to his old lair. There, he transferred himself back into his body, although he retained a psychic link for a brief time.Shortly after establishing a new lair, Tarantulas left the Predacons and declared autonomy from Megatron. However, he and Megatron would cooperate if there was mutual benefits to be gained. Although he may seem somewhat treacherous and totally self-serving, Tarantulas is actually loyal to Tripedacus and the mainstream Predacon cause (from which Megatron has deviated). His true identity as an officer (ranked as Lieutenant) of the Predacon Secret Police was revealed after Ravage was sent to Earth by Tripedacus.After Ravage's death, Tarantulas reallied himself with Megatron. Tarantulas was ultimately destroyed when he attempted to take over Tigerhawk from Vok control. However, in doing so he had also inadvertantly extracted the Vok influence and the combined sparks of Tigatron and Airazor became Tigerhawk. |
