Rules of Engagement
Modified 5-05
The following are the Rules of Engagement for the way members of DLO conduct themselves in battle and expect to be treated by those they are highlighted against. The term 'enemies' is used merely to describe guilds which have declared and accepted invitation for war for the purpose of roleplayed (and therefore acceptable) PVP and player-killing. In some cases, highlighted guilds will actually be allies instead of enemies, but the word 'enemies' is used to describe both groups. If a rule has an asterisk beside it (*), it is required only of STC members who have characters/toons to follow it.
- "INNOCENT" PLAYERS ('blues' 'greys' 'reds' or 'highlighted enemies' who have not attacked/looted/stolen from us or our allies or are not threatening to do so) ARE NEVER TO BE ATTACKED ON SIGHT. (NOTE: This is known as NOTO-PKING and it is OUTLAWED in STC guild rules (not just UO bylaws). Noto-pking is taking the stance that "if you're grey or red, I try make you dead!"). There must be some kind of verbal exchange preceeding a battle unless a mutually agreed-upon battle is undertaken.
- ENEMIES WILL NOT BE ATTACKED IN PUBLIC AREAS like cities, towns, banks, etc., nor should enemies attack SpN characters there.
- *NPCs may be slain to lower notoriety but BLUE HEALERS MUST NEVER BE KILLED as they may be needed by other players. (The RP "reason" for this is that they are considered not worth killing).
- ENEMIES' CORPSES ARE NEVER LOOTED unless by direct request in cases of emergency.
- *Once combat is initiated NO QUARTER IS GIVEN unless mutually agreed upon PRIOR TO ACTUAL COMBAT.
- SNOOPING, STEALING, AND LOOTING IS ENTIRELY PROHIBITED.
- ILLEGAL, THIRD-PARTY, PROGRAMS (non-UO Pro) ARE PROHIBITED. If it is determined that members of other guilds are using them, we will revoke highlighting and cease interacting with them. If members DLO are found to be using them, their membership within STC will be immediately terminated.
