One day, a woman named Estella Scheele enlisted the help of Dr. Quest. She told his she was Professor Scheele's grandaughter and believed he was alive and still lost in the jungles of Peru. With her Estella brought a golden artifact that signified the lost city of gold, El Dorado. Unwilling to pass up the chance to find it, Dr. Quest agreed to help. Bringing everyone but Jessie, they all traveled to Peru.
A huge adventure followed, including the disappearance of Jonny and attacks from huge condors. When the Quest Team and Estella found Jonny, they found El Dorado. Estella immediately tried stealing some gold. The natives noticed this and captured the whole team. While waiting to be eaten by the condors, everyone realized Estella was not who she said she was.
A young native boy that Jonny had saved let them out of their cell. Yet again, Estella tried to steal gold. She also threatened to kill the boy if they did not let her get away. She and the boy stepped onto a walkway that was over a long fall. With Jonny's heroics, the boy was freed from her grasp and the gold fell to the floor. Estella was so worried about losing the gold that she made a grab for it. Because of this, Estella slipped and fell into the ravine.
