Snow Versus Fire
"Part One"

Disclaimer: I don't own anything on here but the Story and Holly Samoan.
Summary: The Dragon Fly just dumped four occupants out in the middle
of nowhere...

And the plane buzzed away. Like Surd had said, it was out in the
middle of nowhere. Snow coated bleak hillsides, icicles hung from frozen
trees. Lorenzo powered away the tiny stolen jet over the ice strewn
Antarctica. As Lorenzo was not very deep, he usually could only follow
orders. 'Dump the four of them in Antarctica, Lorenzo.' Surd had said.
Lorenzo sighed. After four days of flying, the old man Quest and Race
Bannon were already looking for the three kids, that dumb dog, and...
whoever that other person was. That woman was just in the wrong place at
the wrong time. Oh well. The stolen Dragon Fly buzzed off.
Jonny Quest pulled his face out of the snow. He felt very tired, like
someone had hit him on the head with a baseball bat and then kept him in
the influence of sleeping gas for more then one day and then dumped him
from an elevated plane into freezing temperatures below. Of course, that
was exactly it, but Jonny had no way of knowing. He looked around. No
one else was in sight. Actually, that wasn't true, Bandit was running up
to him.
Jonny was about to call to the dog, but he realized how cold he was.
"Great!" He exclaimed angrily, actually with more of a croak. "I'm out
here in snow land and all I have on are my jeans and a T-shirt!"
Bandit barked. "What is it, boy?" Jonny asked.
Bandit continued barking, being no more helpful then he was before.
Jonny crawled over, since he found out his legs were still partially
frozen. Bandit was barking at a bag of something. Jonny picked it up.
Inside where five pairs of odd assorted jackets and scarves, and a small
heat oven. "Who left this here?" Jonny wondered. "Pretty lucky he did,
though."
Jonny turned on the heat oven and slipped on a jacket. After his mind
was thouroughly thawed, he began to look around for any other people.
Nothing had changed, the horizon was still as bleak and white as before.
The ice wall still rose a couple hundred yards away. Bandit was there,
digging a hole in the snow. Jonny turned. "What do you have there, boy?"
He asked.
Bandit looked at him and barked. Jonny was still too cold to really
think of any of the bad possibilities yet. He was, after all, just fell
out of a plane and all that. He helped Bandit dig, and found underneath
three feet of snow a large door leading into the ground. He scraped away
some of the ice, and pulled on the door. It opened amazingly easy,
without a squeak or groan. Inside, it was unbelievably warm. He picked up
Bandit and looked down. Well made steps wound around and out of sight.
Jonny took a careful step forward. The stairs groaned in protest, but
otherwise seemed safe. He continued down the rest of the way. The cellar
seemed deserted. As Jonny continued, he also noticed an unlit torch every
hundred feet or so. Jonny looked around. This would be a good place to
sleep for the night, if he couldn't find anyone else, of course.
As was typical of Jonny's adventures, right when that thought came out
of his mind he heard footsteps and talking that sounded like a cellphone.
"Yeah, yeah, Frank, I know. I heard it too. It's probably just a
jackrabbit or something. Okay, yeah, I'll shoot it. I know, I know, we
don't want any trespasser finding out what we're doing down here."
Jonny turned and walked swiftly and silently away from the voice. He
passed the open cellar door. Jonny turned, about to close it to get rid of
the evidence, but the man's voice was closing in. Jonny turned and ran the
rest of the way down the hall. "Got it, Frank! The door is open!
Definetly a human." The man said. "It went down the dead end."
Jonny hit the dead end straight on. With a groan of pain he sat down,
his nose bleeding from the blow. He stood up, shaking away the grogginess
and searching for the exit. The man's footstep's were too close now to
turn back. Jonny looked around frantically, still holding onto Bandit. If
that dog barked just once! Disaster! Jonny searched the walls. There
was a trap door in the floor! With a heave, the door came up, and Jonny
dropped down. He closed the trap door silently.
Another ladder. Jonny climbed down, suddenly realizing how hard that
was with a dog in one arm. He looked around. The man was directly above
him, now. Hopefully he didn't know about the trap door! Jonny turned and
ducked down another passageway, looking for an exit. He was trapped in
here for now. "The trouble you get me in!" Jonny whisped to Bandit.
Bandit barked.
Jonny winced as the noise echoed down the chamber. The trap door began
to open. "I'm dead!" Jonny thought frantically as he raced down the first
hallway he came to.

Jessie brushed snow out of her hair. By accident, Lorenzo had dropped
Hadji, Jessie, and the unknown person on the other side of the ice wall
then Jonny. It didn't really matter to Lorenzo, though, the middle of
nowhere was the middle of nowhere. "Anyone have an idea where we are?"
Jessie asked sarcastically. While Jonny's mind thrived under pressure,
Jessie tended to get sarcastic. "And where blonde boy is?"
Hadji shook his head, and stood shakily up. "None whatsoever."
"I know where we are." The other woman said. She was much taller then
Hadji, with dark skin and hair, green eyes, and matching clothes. "This is
Antartica."
Jessie and Hadji glanced at each other. "Thanks." Hadji said. "Who
are you? I am Hadji Singh, this is my friend Jessie Bannon."
"My name is Holly Samoan." She said. "Just call me a 'Worker'. You
see, I have a little problem. I was hired by Zinh to kill you..."
