Patter To Improve Creative Thinking

     This page will serve more than one purpose in that we will provide both a short patter for use in self hypnosis or in making a tape and then a simple technique for helping your awaken your creative self during your everyday life.

     I believe that all of us have a center of creativity that we can learn to turn on with suggestion that is mixed with a generous portion of desire.  Any guess by me as to how creativity works is just that, a guess.  But 20 years from now when our scientists have unraveled some of the mysteries of life, someone will discover the methods necessary to activate the neuron circuits in the different brain centers the same as a computer is programmed by a technician.  That will lead to the most exciting creative development in human history.

     Let's begin by working on a self hypnosis tape or a tape to play in the night while you are asleep.  If you have a cassette recorder you can record the relaxation patter and give suggestions to awaken the creative self.  If you chose to make a tape, you might start off with a short opening.  "Now you are asleep, deep and fast asleep.  You will remain asleep and hear and understand every word that I speak."

     Continue on with a basic relaxation before giving suggestions about awakening the creative center of your mind.  This prepares you by relaxing the body, making it completely comfortable and you won't be worrying about what is going on around you - - you will be receptive to these suggestions.  Relaxation is very simple.  You can expand on what I am going to do here by using a longer version from another patter page or use it exactly as is, so here goes.

Creative Patter

      Now you feel the feeling of relaxation entering your body.  You feel this feeling of relaxation start at your feet and toes and every muscle and nerve is relaxing as you feel this feeling of relaxation flow through your ankles and into the calves of your legs.  As every muscle and nerve relaxes, you feel this feeling move through your knees and into your thighs and you feel your thighs relax.

     This feeling of relaxation is entering your hips and your stomach and you feel all the tension and tightness leave your stomach and you're completely relaxed and very comfortable.

     You feel this feeling of relaxation in your chest and your breathing becomes easier and easier with every breath that you take and every word that I speak.  You will always hear and understand my voice as you go deeper and deeper asleep. 

     Now feel your shoulders relax.  Feel all the muscles and nerves in your shoulders relax completely.  So very, very, relaxed and very, very, comfortable and you feel this feeling of relaxation flowing through your arms all the way down to your hands and fingers.

     Then this feeling enters your back and your back is relaxed completely.  All the way from the base of your spine to your neck and you feel your neck relax completely.  Now feel our face relax.  Feel every muscle and nerve in your face relax completely.  So very, very relaxed and very, very comfortable.   All the muscles and nerves in your cheeks, chin, and around your mouth are relaxed.  Your eyes are relaxed and your forehead is relaxed.  Even the very top of your head and your scalp is relaxed and you are relaxed now from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.

      * * At this point the patter can be expanded of left as is.  The following patter can be expanded to include a specific creative project for your hobby or work.  This patter can just as easily be adapted for experiments with your study group. * *

     Now as you go deeper and deeper asleep, the creative center of your mind is becoming more and more awake.  The center that has been partially awake before now is going to awaken and become fully productive for you.  Feel the center awaken now as the activity increases within your mind.  The creative forces that come from the spiritual and psychic energy in the air will be combined with and amplified with those creative forces within you.

     Feel the center awaken now as you go deeper and deeper asleep and you become more and more relaxed.  Now in the morning when you awaken you will feel refreshed, relaxed, alert, and creative, and will remain so.

End of Patter:

     If our aren't prepared to do a night tape there is another very easy way to awaken the creative center while going about your normal daily routine.  This can best by done by simply taking a 3 X 5 card and cutting it in two and writing your instructions as clearly as possible.  Such as:

"I will write creative poetry now.  The words will flow freely.
It will be done"

"I will think of a new product for our company to build and sell
It will be done"

"I will think of a creative new business to go into now
It will be done"

"I will have a creative idea this week
It will be done"

     Carry the card and read it 3 or 4 times a day.  Write out a simple short patter that can be used during self hypnosis or to be given to you by a friend.  Visualize yourself being successful with your project.  Follow through for at least a month if necessary.  And above all, keep a log of your results.
