Nek's Dream

"Nek", (Enrique without the "r" and means "Precious Flower" in Swahili) sent us this dream and we thank "Nek" for sharing it with our guest.

I am writing to you about this one dream to some people, is unbelievably vivid. About 4 years ago, in high school my class was reading a book called The Crucible. That night, I fell asleep on the couch and dreamt that I was in my kitchen attempting to fix myself a beverage. During that time, there was a little calendar on the freezer door of the refrigerator. As I walk up to the fridge, the calendar didn't appear to be small. It was huge, with THUR written in bold red print with the numbers 640 underneath. I ignored it for a moment and continued on fixing myself something to drink.

I sit my glass on the kitchen table and noticed my book. The words The Crucible were on fire. I tried to touch the book and it burnt my hand. I ran to the sink to cool my hand with cold water. Beside the sink was my back door. I glimpsed at it and continued to cool down my hand, but something told me to look at it again. This time, instead of my back door being brown, it was yellow with red trim with a skull and crossbones. I take my hand from the sink and try and make my way into my living room. Between the kitchen and living room entrance is my basement door. My basement door was the same as my back door. The only difference was that the basement door had the name RONNIE on fire. Seeing this woke me up immediately. I ran into the kitchen and looked at the calendar for the date. The day of the dream was on Tuesday.

Thursday evening, my friend Ronnie stops by my house at 6:30 pm. The moment I saw his face I instantly had a real bad feeling. I told him not to go home and to call everyone that was inside of his house outside. He thought I was crazy. He gave me a hug and went home. Ten minutes later, I hear fire trucks and ambulances around the corner from my house. I ran over and prayed that my prediction didn't come true and unfortunately it did. Later on I found out from Ronnie that something blew up in his basement and the fire spread into the kitchen. After the kitchen went into flames, the entire house did as well. I ran through the crowd of spectators and found Ronnie. He gave me a look of both surprise and sheer gratitude.

All my life I have been able to see things in my dreams so clear and when they happened in reality, I brushed it off as just a coincidence. But after this dream, I decide to take my dreams seriously. But I am still unsure if this is a gift or just coincidence.

Thanks, Nek, for sharing this.
