ANDORIAN Home Planet: Fesoan (Andor), Epsilon Indi UFP Founding Member Andorian are the only species known to the Federation that employs caharacteristics of both mammalian and insectoid creatures. The Andorians have normal intenral skeleton with muscles attached to bone, but also have a limited exoskelton, greatly increasing their strength. Also, Andorian eyes are very limited in their abilities, and are unable to discern colour. However, their two antennae (proturding from the top of their head) make up for this by seeing all of the visible light spectrum as well as delving into the infrared region as well. Due to the useage of four indpendent optical receptors, Andorians enjoy ‘quadroscopic' vision, giving them incredible depth perception. As to their other senses, they are standar,d except ofr thier hearing. The antennae, also increase audio receptor capabilities, and allow the Andorians to hear a wider range of requencies than is normal for most humanoids. Andorians have a strange social order, and, althoguth they were founding members of the Federation, their world is less than united. A confederation of nations, The ‘Bond of the Words Unspoken' confers and indidivual into the Andorian co-operative, or _Tyk_. Thei cooperative is handles extra-world affairs, but, on Andor itself, indvididuals countires, nations, and alliance form and fith amongst themselves in the plitcial arena, as well as in the warring sector. Andorians are a naturally aggresive species, and with their loose social order, and above-avergae strength and endurance they tend to employ this aggression more than some specieis. As a result, Andorians in Starfleet geneally find themselves in the more action-orientated areas, such as the Mariens, Security or Command. While thie aggression exists, it is not so much so that Andorians are physicallt incapable of anything else, and, as with any race there are exceptions to eveyr rule. While hte majority of Andorians are found in Security & Marines there specishas spread throughout the Federation and into various departments within Starfleet.
