Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0508 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Currently vacant ********************************************************* ********************************** Acting Antelope Squadron Commander ********************************** Branch Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** With the Quert ship containing the kidnapped Away Team members coming up under them, FO Judah Gibbons prepares the USS HAMILTON to intercept them with the vessel's tractor beams. The smaller ship's engine failure sends it plunging back planetward, though, rendering the SF vessel's attentions unnecessary. OPS/aFCO Zac Bentley moves the Away Team's remaining shuttle under the other vehicle to physically "catch" the distressed vehicle and both make a sliding crash landing. Since a SF D-warp and a Ralvidan battle group have simultaneously arrived, Gibbons simply directs those of the Away Team who were left on the surface to the crash site to assist while HAMILTON deals with the new hostiles. The Ralvidans' unchanged attitude comes through the imperative, "... surrender or prepare to die." Gibbons is understandably reluctant to do either and, reassured by the D-warp's retreat to the planet's lee, immobilizes the alien vessel in orbit and directs HAMILTON toward the new arrivals. When the small battle fleet launches 500 missiles at the SF ship in response to the first officer's request to consider a rational approach to the whole situation, Gibbons gets tired of holding back. He orders the missiles destroyed, the ships' launchers vaporized, and their engines incapacitated. Captain Tralan, of the immobilized SPADA still orbiting the planet, is suitably impressed and contacts the other Ralvidan COs to discuss their surrender petition to the HAMILTON. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** Beaver Squadron Commander *************************** Branch Admiral Anna Karsten *************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CMO Bill Patton experiences the after-effects of a heavy party night, which are as unpleasant as the party was pleasant. The next morning, more people experiencing post-party-problems are awaiting treatment in sickbay. CEO Dariale gets a call from an old friend, who is now the Trasien ambassador to the Federation. He tells her a group of Federation diplomats has been attacked on their way to Trasior, possibly by the Purists, a Trasien movement strongly against Trasior joining the Federation. After a disturbing dream, FO Leyson Ayden is contacted by Omega because another member of the Enterprise-J's crew has been found: security officer Ens. Fedds Maxon. Ayden is pleasantly surprised by his news, and he heads to the transporter room to give Fedds a warm (at least, for Leyson's standards) welcome. OPS Blaze Starsinger is visited by his pen-pal and good friend Leona Garvedian. Together with No'urdan, they have a great night. ****************** USS ATHENE CO: Commander Krwn GM: Kathy Ruether ****************** Krwn has decided to change the ATHENE's course for Melkot in order to rid the ship of any Talosians that might still be aboard. Lt. Sands and Ensign Ian Hollander confront Krwn about his decision to do so. Security is to make all necessary preparations in order to enter Melkot without being destroyed. Ian is still not sure about this idea of going to Melkot. Krwn is not worried that the ATHENE will blow up due to the self-destruct mode still in place. He knows that there will be an Admiral and Starfleet vessels that will come after them and remove the self-destruct before it goes off. Let's hope that's true. Meanwhile, Jouri is having trouble dealing with shooting the illusion of his brother because it was like killing himself, only the feeling afterwards was worse. Jouri requests that he is relieved of duty for the time being because of the recent events. Then he goes to Jur to ask if he's insane. Ensign Perrin Jones is informed that he has been transferred to the ATHENE after an accident he caused on the Bridge of his former ship. Good luck to the ATHENE. You'll need it. ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: (currently vacant) ******************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Roberts agrees to handle the Trade Relations for Cait. During discussions with Av'ern it is decided to establish viable trade contact with either the Dergrad or the Vurtedion. Roberts informs Av'ern that the Dergrad were too volatile to deal with. The Vurtedions may be paranoid about who comes into their space, but at least they would be receptive. Further plans would need to be made. It is decided to use space on Klingon and Vulcan trade ships to move the merchandise initially. Roberts sends a feeler to the Vurtedions inquiring about trading. Once the Federation Council on Earth heard of the feelers, an Admiral contacted Captain Alyza wanting to know just what was going on. Alyza was instructed to make sure that Ambassador Av'ern knew of Roberts 'crimes'. The Admiral seemed sure that this would end Roberts' involvement with the Caitan trade negotiations. DNA Scans from the site of the girl's disappearance and the archeological artifacts identify the species as either Ferengi or Sori. Fischer questions Jel'ar, who denies any knowledge of the artifacts. Fischer notices some small objects, similar to the artifacts on a shelf in Jel'ar's compartment. Jel'ar brushes them off by explaining that they were a gift from an old customer. Security finally gets the monitor camera playback of the storage area ready for viewing. They show Falik, a Ferengi, entering the storage area with the crate of archeological artifacts. The also show the missing girl appearing and exchanging words with the Ferengi before she leaves. Fischer makes plans to arrest Falik the next morning. Dryden examines the artifacts and concludes that they are Vulcan, from the Time of Awakening, Earth year 1270. One scroll was in Surak's own handwriting. They are very valuable and were reported stolen from a Vulcan museum about a month ago. The Romulans would love to get their hands on the artifacts. The Romulans would have used them to taunt Vulcan officials for years to come. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy GM: Adam West ************************** With Perry and Nash having brought the planet to a state of war, the chances are that the scientific research that has been opening unstable wormholes to Tallinoid space (And endangering the cocoon) will have been put on hold, giving the marines time to deal with the unwelcome arrival of the USS JOHN GLENN. Given the race has yet to develop warp capability, Perrys orders are to keep the mission secret even from starfleet. As the General had said "Those bleeding hearts would louse things up and have us over-run with Tallonids before they could decide how to get around the prime directive!". The booby-trapped wreckage is set to damage the Glenn in the hopes of driving them off. Lt. Sydney Martin, CSciO, attempts to motivate and bond his staff by giving them graphic descriptions of the Talonid threat, and assigning them the problem of creating a defense against the insectoids. This sparks an almost paranoid trend of workaholicism, but some ideas generated seem promising. Counselor Scott is deluged with visits from the overworked science department and orders Martin to ban overtime. However, after a 'recommendation' from FO Horne, Scott downgrades the order to a 'strong suggestion.' Meanwhile, CO Capt Richard Murphy grills CMO Kelsi Biaret about Capt John Nash's suspicious motivations for disobeying orders and taking the Cochrane to respond to a personal distress call. Sadly, chaplain of the departed USS COCHRANE and best friend to Nash, Ian MacGregor suffers a bitter and anonymous death at the hands of the Talonid, after his escape pod crash-landed on an unexplored planet. Meanwhile the Glenn begins its investigation of the situation despite personnel problems, finding two escape capsules from the destroyed USS COCHRANE. The FO and FCO finding themselves in the middle of some hungry tallonid young.... and invited to stay for dinner! ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith ********************************** Pol gets in the hot seat at the trial and is grilled by Kelen, who informs him that the Romulans arn't interested in what Pol did, but that they believe the federation is just using him as a scapegoat to the treaty they have been breaking for years. He says he has evedence to back it up, and calls Vask to the stand. Kelen reveals his evidence, showing that a spy at this moment has been sent to the Romulan warbird, under Nathial orders, which are directed by Pol. He then calls Nathial to the stand. Daniel Stuart thinks more on his new orders and researchs the duty of an FO. They also recieve Maka's message. Over on the Romulan vessel, Paly'n is being brutally interigated by Selnan, but due to a trick he learnt as a spy in the other existance, he retreats to a place in his mind, which shields him from the effects. When Selnan gets everyone to leave the room, Paly'n takes action, gaining freedom and strapping Selnan to the chair, to get the information he needs. ********************************************************************* Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Adm. Elisabeth Davies) ********************************************************************* UPDATED SD 13.0313 The Federation/Na'Chem Ceasefire is still in effect. The USS SELEYA's peace talks have reached an impasse, although efforts continue. The USS ZEUS and USS XERXES continue patrols and have managed to disable one hostile cell's activities. The SELEYA is currently attempting contact with another influential Na'Stiu cell. Diplomatic relations with the Juun are still considered to be in 'a tense period.' Talks have resulted in an effort to disclose many possible sentient rights transgressions by past Juun governments, although very little has been turned up to date. Actions to relegitimize SFIntel continue. Administration needs which have stalled much of the progress are being handled, allowing for a resurgence in these efforts. *************************************** Amgine Sector Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) *************************************** OP108 has completed installation of its orbital docking platform and commercial and Fleet activity continues to grow in the area. The USS HORIZON has been assigned to continue the COCHRANE's aborted mission and investigate disappearances near the wormhole. As a direct result of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference, the Aldemiian race has been accepted as a probationary protectorate of the Federation, establishing an embassy on Earth. Two other races from that conference are still being considered for Federation membership. On a related note, the Federation might possibly become an intergalactic organization soon, as the Trasien race from the Andromeda galaxy has applied for Federation membership. Negotiations for evaluation will proceed soon. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** The Klingon/Federation Officer Exchange Program has shown some success and plans are in the works to expand the program. The Klingon Empire and the Federation have established a non-aggression pact that many consider the prelude to a new treaty between the two. Still no official comments from the Cardassian Union. Recent investigations into Tholian border activity have confirmed that there is no military objective. Fourteen new colonies have been established within two sector's distance from the neutral zone, and military presence on these colonies is considered very light. An official assurance of peaceful intentions has been received from the Tholians. Romulan Ambassador Tultia and Vulcan Ambassador Skarov continue talks of Unification. Talks are expected to last several more weeks, despite projections of failure. ********************************************************
