Commanding Officer: T.E. Lawrence
Starship Classification: Excelsior

Mission Status:

Captain T.E. Lawrence commands the Federation Starship USS Excalibur. During the past year, Excalibur participated in three missions in the Third Fleet. The first was Mistaken Identity.

This mission began with reports by two survey parties which had been planetside on two planets for a significant period of time. The first on the seventh planet of the Alosi system, the second on K'Tan's second planet (2 of 12). Both planets attained warp drive technology. One race is peaceful, the other a warrior race. Based on the survey parties' recommendation, the Federation's decision was to invite the peaceful world to apply for membership and to continually monitor the race of beings known as the K'tan. In less time than it takes to tell the story, the Excalibur's diplomatic party headed by the Captain beamed to the surface, were greeted by officials of the Alosi and immediately opened diplomatic relations with the Alosi. Suddenly the town center was rocked with an attack from space. Meanwhile, the bridge crew of the Excalibur was astonished to see two vessels of K'tan origin decloak and fire several volleys planetside. Needless to say, the Alosi and the K'tan did not have cloaking technology ... and the Alosi blamed the Federation for the attack. The entire diplomatic party was arrested.

After finally extricating themselves from this debacle, Captain Lawrence of the Excalibur and her crew moved on to better things. In the mission, Murder Aboard the Excalibur, the starship takes on the job of delivering a rather repulisive Orion by the name of Q'Tunn Gramass to safe haven in the star system Rheon. In this 24th century drama, he had, in exchange for his testimony, been granted immunity from prosecution. His testimony was responsible for the conviction of 13 Orion slave smugglers (all his friends). Although confined to his quarters during the transit to Rheon, which was then sealed for his security, Q'Tuun Gramass expired sometime during the first 24 hours. His death was not a pleasant sight.

The final mission of the year for the Excalibur was The Sword and the Claw, a mission conducted in conjunction with the USS Exeter. Though the Exeter was destroyed during this mission, Excalibur survived. This mission involved undercover work by two landing parties, one to a clandestine listening post on Vecca III. This post had been used for a number of months during 2309. The other party was directed to the City of Marranoan. The undercover work was designed to ferret out the location of a Klingon by the name of Kawjog. The Klingon was recognized as the authority on starship and propulsion design both within and without the Federation. His rescue was directly tied to the success of Starfleet's current shipbuilding program. In the end, they got their man.

The Excalibur's first mission of 2311 is Now You See It ... Now You Don't, a mission that commences inside a strange gaseous cloud near the 'Triangle'. The problem is that everything that has recently been replicated suddenly begins to dissolve. Uniforms ... repair parts ... You should have seen the scramble!! I'm sure that the valiant crew of the Excalibur will have their starship back in operating order in a short time.
