March's Sacred Site:

Isle of Iona, Scotland

Site of one of the most-visited monasteries in Christendom, tiny Iona was once one of the holiest islands of the Druids. Indeed, its Gaelic name, "Innis-nam Druidbneach", means "island of the Druids". The Druids were driven out of this windswept western outpost of Scotland before the arrival of St. Columba in 563 C.E., and, centuries later, Columba's works would be sacked as well.
