More so today than it ever was.
In worlds where the weakest survive, and the incompetent rule, it is a choice to follow or to lead. Creativity is no longer a gift (if it ever was) but an asset. We are all assets. No longer people. Emotions tossed upon clouded seas, with no hope of returning home. There is no home. There is only the Now, and the What-Will-Be. There is no longer the Then. The Then is not important, say the Takers. The Then is not what the People want, what the People need. They do not know. They do not hear. They do not see. They blind us. The Then determines the Now. The Now determines the What-Will-Be. Without the Then, there is nothing. The Takers, they do not understand this. They blind the rest of us with their ignorance.
Everything must happen for a reason. A chain of events that leads to the growth of our People. We, Now, are not the end. We think we are. We thing we are the ultimate goal of the universe. Why would we be? We are but a link in a much longer chain that we cannot possibly see the end to. It is our arrogance that blinds us to the visions of corruption and destruction to come. It is our egotistical nature that makes us deaf to the cries of the dead and the doomed and the forgotten. We have forgotten so much. We have lost our way. We have lost our way in our belief that we are the final accomplishment of the All. That the universe itself, that its purpose was to produce Us. This is not true. I doubt that we will ever know this, that our People will ever recognize this, and that we will ever know what the universe has planned for us, for it is certainly not the life we have created for ourselves in our self-deluded manner. We, as a People, are individuals with a common goal that is unknown to the mass world. Even the People of Power, who try to control our very life with words of wisdom that they know better, is clueless and unfit to rule our People. They cannot control us, for we are all captives of our own prisons. We are the prisoners and the jailers and the key-holders.
Order is always an option.
