Level 1: Starting Level 1 you have 2 extra units, there names are Commander and Troy. Commander is a soldier. Troy is an archer. They are stronger than your average unit. You also have whatever amount of troops you have hired. Unless you only hired 1 guy and you have the difficulty setting on slaughter...then this level should very easy.
The opponents on this level are probably one of the easiest opponents in the game...elves. They start to the north of you. They may flee into the trees, but then you just kill them when they come out. Their weapon is rocks. Basically you charge them and have a slaughter fest. You may lose 1 or possibly 2 units on this level.
The exit can be found down a path in between to groups of trees at the north end of the map.
Level 2: When you start Level 2 you may notice familiar settings...the path in between the trees is now longer and you can travel through it. You may have problems getting through your own troops. The enemy (blue) is located to the north. Your commander will probably get there first and decide to go out in a blaze of glory. This is OK. It is meant to happen. You need to bring a group of 7 to safely take out the mass of blue units. You will probably need to be a soldier on this level. If you can get to the enemy soldier who seems to be surrounded by a white aura, then kill him. The rest is a matter of slaughter. You may lose possibly about 5 units on this level.
The exit is located at the north end of the map.
Level 3: Same setting. By now you should have a full team, primarily consisting of archers and soldiers. You can experiment with other units...there special powers often come in handy on later levels. This time the elves are attacking from the south and blue is attacking from the north. Troy will instantly go out and challenge blue and get himself killed. Your main force will probably stay behind to kill the elves. When this happens you should proceed to go to the blue battle(located by some stone walls in the middle of the map). You probably have little units there. By the stone structures on the left, you will notice a green bottle shape. This is a potion of invisibility...get this and use it to go around the chaos and pick off certain blue units until your main force arrives. Once your main force arrives your task should be simple...kill.
The exit is located on the north end of the map.
Level 4: A gooey mess is actually the best description for this level. Your enemies are actually quite easy on this level. They are the green blobs. If you have a full team this should be a simple task. Bring in your units and take them on in the front...they will keep on coming but just destroy them as they come. Charging these blobs is a very good idea. You can call out to your units to come to your location...this can help you partially surround the blobs giving more of your units opportunities to attack therefore doubling your efficiency. On this level you may find food...it resembles the form of a leg of chicken. If you get this your health will be regenerated by about 20. Gold and silver can be found on this level also. This obviously gives you more money to train, hire, etc. A big stash of silver is located at the southwest corner of the map. There is also some gold and silver by some trees at the north end of the map. You will also find the exit here.
AFTER LEVEL NOTE: This is a good time to train your troops. It is a good idea to train your soldiers because this next level the fighting is mostly hand to hand. Do not be afraid to use all of your money. You will probably need your soldier's strength at a average of 17. Make sure all factors are at least 10. If you have any money left over upgrade some of your archers so that all of their attributes are at least 10. Now would be very good time to hire 3 or 4 clerics. Upgrade their CON power(magic power). You will need your clerics on the next level to help heal your units against stronger and faster enemies.
Level 5: Your enemy on this level is coming from both sides. From the so there are some weak blue units. From the north comes the wrath of the undead(purple). Most of the time these units are stronger and faster than you. If you are good you can take them out by taking out there 3 tent-like bases located at the north end of the map. If you are playing on a difficulty level higher than skirmish, expect to have to play this level more than once. When you start this level half of your units will go take on the weak blue army and the other half will be forced to hold out against the purple. You need to stop the split up from occuring. Call out to your units to stay nearby you and attack the purpl units. Try to keep the soldiers in front. Have the archers behind to help with ranged attacks. On this level you might want to be a cleric. You need to heal your fighting units during battle. This may be your only chance against the undead. In the madness your units will probably kill the blue units also. Expect major casualties if playing higher than skirmish. You may wind up with only 2-9 units in the end. This is ok...it is inevitable. If you are playing on skirmish than you will end up with 15-20 units. Make sure to search the map for all available gold and silver.
AFTER LEVEL NOTE: When you get back from beating this level you should have about 25000 gold. This will be very useful. Rehire a new team of soldiers and archers. You probably have enough money to uprgrade all of their attributes up to 15, except for maybe armor.
