...About the fire control window
The fire control window can help you target specific ships for special purposes. This is useful for destroying ships that have more powerful weapons ships that are farther away than others but are bombing you, and (if you are going on a suicidal attack) targeting ships with Space Yards or Colony Modules. The reason why you use this instead of "Auto Caculate Targets Now" is because Auto Calc will target the ships with weapons, the one's with the most health, and that are the closest. Sometimes you don't want to do only that, sometimes you want your ship to target 2 ships in one firing turn.
Section 1-This section shows you what ships you have, which one you have selected, what kind of ship they are, how much damage they have taken, and how many ships they can target. When you select one of these ships it will show you a list of weapons available on that ship in Section 3.
Section 2-This section shows you a list of enemy ships, how much damage they've taken, and how many spaces away they are on the grid.
Section 3-This section shows a list of weapons available to you from whatever ship you selected in Section 1. You click on an enemy ship, and then click on one of your weapons and that weapon will target that ship. Keep in mind though, 1 ship can only target as many ships as it shows in Section 1.
