Rogues And Rakes

by Lady Isabella O'Rourke

I suppose there's some things
To be said for a man
Who'll cower,cajole, and plead
And more to be said
For the kind of man
Who'll answer your ev'ry need
And many a fair maiden
May dream of a man
Who'll bow to her every whim
But I like a totally different kind
And if you like I can tell ya 'bout 'im

Oh I like
Rogues and rakes
Those dashing young drakes
And those you don't take to your mum
At the end of the day
What else can I say
There's nothing quite like a good bum
Oh I hope you don't mind
If I'm trying to find
The gleam of a mischievous eye
But I just can't resist 'em
Might just as well kiss 'em
Why let the wild life pass me by

So I spent all my youth
With the crass and uncouth
Knowing the price I would pay
With devils of every
Color and kind
Ah yes- Well those were the days
And my poor dear mother
Although I did love her
I drove to an early grave
But I seem to remember
One foggy December
I once thought I heard her say

I once loved
Rogues and Rakes
Those dashing young drakes
And those you don't take to your mum
What else can I say
At the end of the day
There's nothing quite like a good bum
Till I found out one day
When they whisk you away
They don't ever come calling again
But if ever that happens
To you my dear girl...
Find out if he's got a best friend

Oh I like
Rogues and rakes
Those dashing youg drakes
And those you don't take to your mum
At the end of the day
What else can I say
There's nothing quite like a good bum
I hope you don't mind
If I'm trying to find
The gleam of a mischievous eye
But I just can't resist 'em
Might just as well kiss 'em
Why let the wild life pass me by
