*BAM* “Hurry up! More of them are coming!” “Don’t panic!” *Geez. Another reason to add to the list of reasons not to have partners.* He placed the last charge while Pat watch the door. On their way through the factory they came across what must have been the remains of Ditto. Pat cried a bit, but they had to move on. They encountered another one of those creatures, but they were able to run through a door to escape it. “Done. Run!” he shouted to her. *What a rush.* She wasn’t used to this kind of excitement. Some excitement, sure. But not sneak-into-enemy-HQ-face-an-unstoppable-monster-run-from-hundreds-of-guards-and-blow-up-the-building-excitement! This was nuts! Bullets zooming every which way. Some kind of explosive behind them, a thirty second timer set on it, and they still had to get out of the building! Just when she thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did. It’s always that inopportune moment when you’d rather catch the plague… *BAM* “Ah!” He stopped and turned around. Pat was on the ground, blood pouring out of her arm. He looked up and saw half a dozen Umbrella guards behind her down the hall. *Got the bitch!* He’d started working in the Jusenkyo facility for only two weeks, and already the resistance hit it. *Better than the Utah facility…they got hit before it opened!* He just shot the female in the group when the male looked up with those eyes. He guy looked pissed enough as it was. The eyes…they were more frightening than anything he’d heard about the guy before. The guy looked up, pulled off his glasses, and there it was. The guys left eye…was… *What the hell is this…?* …glowing…red… *This guy’s not human…* “You’re awake! Finally…almost had to go all the way back down the mountain to get you to a hospital.” She opened her eyes, and there he was. His hair blew around in the wind, his black sunglasses glistened the light into her eye. She looked at the area on her arm she had felt the pain. …It was bandaged up… …then she noticed something. “You aren’t sitting right in one of the cursed springs of Jusenkyo are you?!” “Geez. Calm down! I was a bit bloody from the guards I had to fend away from you, so I figured to get rid of all the blood and piece of…well you don’t want to know what it was…but anyway…” “YOU’RE TAKING A BATH IN A CURSED SPRING OF JUSENKYO! “What the big deal?” “You WERE staying with Ukyou, right?” “Right…” “And you met some of her friends, right?” “Right…” “And you do remember that they transform when touch by cold water, right?” “Right…” “And do you remember why that was?” “Um…no…” “THE CURSED SPRINGS OF JUSENKYO!” “…damn…” He looked down at the water he was sitting in, then back at Pat, then shrugged and stretched out some more. “You know, for an educated guy like yourself…” Pat started. “What? For an educated guy like myself what?” “Nothing…” Pat said, shaking her head and walking away. *Women…* He grabbed his clothes beside the spring and dipped them in, washing off the blood. The following day, the two of them were hard at work training. “Why the hell do some many people like coming here to train anyway?” he asked Pat. “I don’t know…tradition? Anyway, how long are you going to take?” “Training?” “Ya…” “Don’t know…we’re here…be a shame to come here and do nothing…” “DO NOTHING! If you haven’t forgotten, we just blew up another Umbrella facility!” “Standard thing. One in almost every major area. Might as well spend a few weeks here. I need a vacation anyway.”
