She stood on the mountain ledge and breathed in the cool mountain air. Her long black hair floating on the cool wind as it brushed her bare skin. Her large ice blue eyes stared out over the valley below. Her stare shifted back to the rock wall behind her. The sheer rock loomed before her, the top disappearing into the clouds above. She brushed a strand of hair out of her face with a quick brush from her slender hand. "You have much to learn my young warrior" The voice was deep. Jazel started up the mountain once more. "I know enough" Jazel called back to the thin air that surrounded her. A low chuckle came in response. Jazel rolled her eyes annoyed as she continued her climb. "You know enough, eh? HA! It showed back in NeoTokyo. You use the magick the others have taught you. None that is your own!" Io replied. Jazel reached for a crack to jam her fingers into. She silently fumed as her 5'11 slender body continued up the mountain face. ~You know nothing of what happened in NeoTokyo~ She thought to herself but tried hard to hold her tongue. No such luck. "What do YOU know of what happened in NeoTokyo?! YOU weren't there!" Jazel snapped. Io appeared out of the stone as if he stepped through an opened door. He crossed his tiny arms over his tiny chest. The tiny dark blue dragon glared angrily at Jazel as she continued to climb upward. "I know more then you think. You couldn't resist could you? You couldn't resist challenging the whole gang to a fight could you? You were supposed to be..." Io's voice faded out as Jazel thought back to the last time she was home. The alley was a dark one and not far from her house. She glared at the 12 strangers all in black with anger. Her blood boiled through her veins with rage. They had told her to get or she would get hurt. They were messing with her turf. With her home. She could not stand by and watch it be destroyed. "Don't make me hurt you sweetheart!" One of them called. His face hidden by the large hood that casted a shadow over his face. "Sweetheart? SWEETHEART?! You want a piece of me? Is that what you really want?!" Jazel screamed. She was solely out numbered 12 to 1, but she just could not stand by and watch these bastards get away with messing around in her neighborhood. ~They were the main reason why her neighborhood was concsidered the rough part of town. It was because of thugs like these jerks.~She thought her blood still boiling. 4 of the men in black leather turned from the car they were stripping and started to come towards her. The rest of them followed creating a large circle around her. She slowly turned around eyeing each and every one of them, mentally noting each weapon of choice. She gripped her staff with both hands till her knuckles turned ghost white. Two of them came at her at once. Both teeth bareing and ready for a fight. Jazel's staff hit the first one hard, knocking him to the ground clutching his stomach. Jazel cringed as she felt skin being ripped torn open. She caught sight of a deep gash in her arm and glared at the blade that showed her blood. She let the other fall to the ground after hitting him across the head with the butt of her staff. As if it were a signal, the rest charged at Jazel all at once. "Jazel!" cried a familiar voice. Jazel looked to the entrance of the alley in horror. "Michael get out of here! NOW!!" She cried before taking a hard hit to the head. The next thing she remembered was waking up in the hospital with a few broken ribs, stitches in her right arm, and a concusion. Michael was no where to be seen. Her parents told her he was dead. She didn't, couldn't believe it. Not her Michael. ~Michael~ Jazel sat on the small ledge and stared into empty space. She turned her head to stare angrily at the small dragon as he continued to flab his mouth. She could see him talk, but her ears were not listening to the words. "You have the natural power the others do not. Therefore making you more powerful then them. Why not just use yours and stop using theirs?" Io said, watching Jazel climb to her feet once more and start up the mountain. "So what of it? At least I am using something!" Jazel called as her muscles once more strained with every pull upward. "I didn't ask to be sent on this stupid quest! I didn't ask to be one of the Dragons you know and I DIDN'T ask for you either!" she snapped as she continued on. Io shook his head. "No you didn't ask , but you were and you are" He muttered softly before stepping back into the rock.
