Gordon walked slightly ahead of the others, not even noticing it himself, so lost in thought. Cora's voice rang in his ears, dragging him, unwillingly, into his past. "I believe I can help you." Gordon turned to see a cloaked woman standing behind him. Her face was obscured by her hood. "This will lead you to what you seek." She pushed a scroll into his hands and ran off. *No!* Gordon screamed to himself. *I don't want to remember!* "This could be IT. We can't afford not to check it out." "Sheesh, Gordon." Joseph, his older brother laughed. "A strange girl gives you a map and you trust her completely. Shouldn't I remind you that you already have a fiancé?" "It's not like that!" Gordon cried, blushing brightly. "It's-it's-it's her voice. I know that voice, somehow. We can trust her." "Well we don't have any other leads, so we might as well check it out. Let's go." *But if that was Cora, then...then...No...* "Ready." Joseph asked. "On the count of three, all of us together. One...two...THREE!" "UNLOCK!" The trio cried. In response, the giant stone slap slowly began to move. "Alright, let's go." Lisa being the smallest, slipped in first, the light from her spell illuminating the room. Joseph came next. Gordon had to remove his armor, but managed to get through. "By the Towers of Seyrun! We found it!" Joseph exclaimed as he examined the giant statue that stood before them. "The toumb of Lina Inverse!" While Joseph examined the mighty statue of the world's greatest sorceress, and Lisa bowed in prayer to the Gods, Gordon started examining the walls. "Hmm," Joseph muttered. "The stories are right. She was pretty flat chested. Ow!" Joseph cried as a large rock fell from the cavernous cieling and smacked him on the head. "What the?" Gordon was looking for the legendary spell. The walls were literally covered in writings, mostly spells, a testament to how great Lina Inverse truly was. Finally he spotted the rune which meant Dragon. He began to translate. "The ...king...Dragon King." He frowned. It wasn't the spell, but it intrigued him anyway, so he read on. "A mighty force will come to this world. I have seen it. I am proud to know that it will manifest in my own decendant. He will be known as the Dragon King and he will-" "I found it!" Joseph cried triumphantly, destracting Gordon from his own readings. "Dragon Slave!" "Incredible." Gordon cried as he ran to his brother. "Darkness beyond twilight, Crimson beyond the blood that flows." Gordon muttered, not drawing on the energies, but committing the spell to memory. "Buried within the stream of time is where your power grows. I-" "Very well done!" A familiar voice cried. Gordon turned to see the cloaked woman, surrounded by orcs. "You have gotten me through the traps. Now I, Lady Cora, shall become the mightiest sorceress ever. All I need now, is your sword, Gabriev." "I don't think so," Joseph growled. "You can't fight me." She laughed. "You have expended too much of your magic already. Now give me the sword and I shall spare your lives." "Never!" Joseph cried. "Run!" "After them!" The three of them ran down the maze like toumb with the orcs right behind them. Turn after turn, until they were lost. As fate would have it, they ended up at the stone door that marked the entrance. "Quickly." He cried. Lisa bolted through the door. Gordon followed. His armor got stuck for a moment, but Joseph knocked him through. "Joseph hurry!" Gordon cried, as he saw the orcs draw around him. In response, Joseph unslung his sword and shoved it into Gordon's hands. "Take this and run. I cannot allow this witch to learn all these magics." "No! I won't leave you!" "DIM WIND!" Joseph cried, blowing Gordon back with a mighty wind. "LOCK!" Gordon screamed as the door slowly closed. "UNLOCK! UNLOCK!" He cried again and again. "Lisa! Help me." Then they heard it. "Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond the blood that flows." Joseph entoned slowly. "We have to get out of here!" Lisa cried. Gordon crouched over Lisa's prone form, charred and blackened by the might of the Dragon Slave which raced down the tunnel. "Why Lisa? Why?" "Because you have greater things ahead of you. I love you Gordon Gabriev, but you don't love me. You just think you do. But you don't. You have greater things ahead of you. I have seen it. Oh Gordon. I wanted to see the castle of Seyrun." "Lisa, no." Gordon sobbed. "Take the amulets Gordon." She said, pushing the four stones into Gordon's hands. "You will need them. Good-bye..." She coughed. "good...bye...Gordon...good...bye...Dragon...King..." Gordon could hardly see through his tears. *No. It can't be. How can Cora be the same woman who caused the death of my brother and my fiancé? It must be her double. That lady that the Taurus guy talked about. But still...* Gordon turned in time to see Ishtar scurry beneath her. The pokemon jabbered in concern and Ishtar growled something beneath his breath which Gordon heard but wasn't meant to. "And so it begins Dragon King..."
