Middle GroundOne must wonder at times,
What goes on in the minds of others.
How two sides or two people can be
so diametrically opposed.
Polar opposites, some would say.
But to my observation,
it’s more as if two of the same are
being pushed together.
Like to like, after all,
repels in magnets.
If the euphemism of opposites
can be applied to people,
why not the reverse?
Being forced together only results
in a violent separation.
So while one is flying off,
rebounding, ricocheting,
the other is bouncing hard,
both pitting the very thing
they try and argue over.
Nothing won, nothing gained
but bruises and empty holes.
Altogether a weakened view.
After so long of this fight,
will anyone be happy with the outcome,
or even moderately satisfied?
Too many are already weary,
and have no intention of remaining until
the last gasp
of either party.
