Cairhien

Cairhien is the capital city of the nation of Caihien. It was recently ravaged by civil war, then, in the midst of war, the Shaido Aiel attacked. Rand subsequently took the city and nation after defeating the Shaido. While Rand was a prisoner, Colvere, a greedy claimer of the crown, took the city and declared herself Queen. Rand retook the city and sentenced Colvere to work on the farms for the rest of her life. She hanged herself after that. There is no official King or Queen in Cairhien now, although Rhuarc, an Aiel clanchief, handles the city's affairs. Rand plans to make Elayne Queen in Cairhien.
