Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the Kingdom of Eden?
A: The Kingdom of Eden is an organization of people who share a common
interest in the Renaissance Time Period. Eden is a role playing group in
which each individual develops a character in which they take on and act out
'perform' as the persona which was created.
Q: How does one become a member/citizen of Eden?
A: Becoming a member is simple. One must contact the Ruler of the
organization and voice their desire to join. From there once the Oath of
Loyalty is signed, one is made an official member/citizen, and is granted a
title within the organization. Each individual is also asked to write a
brief history/profile on the character they are playing so that others may
interact better with them.
Q: What is the Oath of Loyalty? And what is its purpose?
A: The Oath of Loyalty was established to show ones intention and
dedication to the organization. The Oath of Loyalty states that you are
freely joining the organization, and will adhere to the guidelines of the
group. The Oath of Loyalty also sets down in writing the persona that an
individual will be taking on.
Q: How is one's title determined?
A: With few exceptions, titles are determined by an individual starting
out at the bottom of the ranks. Promotions are granted by the Ruler on the
basis of actions and participation within the organization.
Q: Nobility vs. Knighthood? What is the difference?
A: When one becomes a member/citizen of Eden, before even signing the
Oath of Loyalty, they must decide whether they wish to hold title within
Nobility or the Knighthood. An individual is unable to hold titles within
both sectors. It can be seen as the direction an individual wishes to take
for their life (aka the life of their character).
Q: What time period is used for this organization? And where does
the title structure come from?
A: When looking at the timeline, we like to focus on the 17th
century. The Social Structure is derived from the Holy Roman Empire -
Austria. As Eden is a Kingdom (and not an Empire), the titles of Emperor and
Empress have not been utilized.
