But Is It Art? marked the end to my abortive stab at the field of horror writing. I have been told since then that it is a marked improvement on Myopia, but I think that it is probably worse. Whereas Myopia, you see, was only based on an untrue premise, But Is It Art? makes the mistake of simple not making any sense. Obviously, vivid description and emotive writing were not to be elements of my field, and nor was suspense. It was a long time before I wrote my next story, Dreams Fulfilled.

The one question I am often asked about the story is whether or not any (either?) of the characters are based on people I actually know or knew. They're not.
