Wilton

Why are so many the same?
Where is the diversity, the cultural overlap?
Don't our students ever tire of being trapped inside the GAP?
Does anyone besides me ever tire of the Wilton ideal?
Why do they like living inside a bubble?
I admit, there are no worries, no gangs, no real trouble.
But doesn't anyone wonder about opening up their mind?
If we laid our stereotypes aside,
What would we find?
Experience-both good and bad
New truths, love and tolerance,
things we've never thought we needed to have had.
And people, oh wonderful people
A kaleidoscope of colors, creeds, and backgrounds,
There are so many ways to be different, and all are wonderful
But, for some reason, we don't want to find them.
No one puts aside their stereotypes to talk openly.
They just don't want the trouble.
So they shelter themselves, and keep living inside this bubble. 1
