Character History:

Born in Scotland, Earth and employed in the manufacturing Department of the St Andrews Impulse Engine Design and Manufacturing works in Ayre, Scotland, for three years James then joined Starfleet Academy at age 21 where he majored in Advanced Engineering and minored as a capable Shuttlecraft Pilot.

His first posting, at age 26, was to USS Redoubt where he served as an Engineer, Lt. JG, proving his worth on many occassions. Quickly moving up through the ranks he left Redoubt, much to the chagrin of his CO, to join the much newer vessel, USS Fearless, where, at age 33, he was taken on with the rank of Chief of Engineering.

Whilst serving on Fearless Mac proved his worth when the Warp Core breached during evasive manouevres against the Dominion forces. With impeccable timing he ejected the breached core into the path of the Dominion Flagship and the crew of the Fearless watched in exultation as that vessel took the brunt of the explosion thereby saving the Fearless and its surviving crew.

Now, 10 years later, Mac has since requested a posting to USS Midway, another new vessel, in order to broaden his horizons, as it were. He hopes that his preceding record will pave the way for him in being accepted as the Midways Chief of Engineering.

Difficult to anger and quick to smile Mac, however, does not suffer fools gladly. His accent, being typically Scottish, helps him to maintain an illusion of aloofness amongst the crew of the vessels he has served on.
