Welcome to My Electronic Dance Music Page! What's NewLet me mention that I missed the mid-late 80's, the so called "Great 80's," however, I still recall early DANCE music of that decade. Personally, it all started in 1995 watching movies like "Hackers" and "Mortal Kombat" and listening to their soundtracks. It was The Beginning for me. Since then it's been historic. Note that from all the electronic dance music I've been listening through out the years, the groove that has caught my attention the most and that has bits and pieces of all types of beats, rythyms and sounds of electronic music is called PROGRESSIVE HOUSE ! HISTORYThe past: .....since the Homo-sapiens clapped two stones and created the first sound. This music genre began in the post-disco /early-mid 80's era; It was the genesis of the DJ culture in three different states of the united states, and in each state DJ's created their own grooves: house music in Chicago, techno music in Detroit, and garage music in new York. Then, this music was played in Europe clubs and took over in the late 80's in the U.K and early-mid 90's in the U.S. European DJ's experimented, improvised, and transformed techno, house, and garage into a new level of music, into what it's known today; It is recycled music by mixing a few sample tracks, and then becoming a composition. DJ's use samplers, synths, others as their instruments. It got popular when it was used/still is as a background music in TV ads (i.e. automobiles, cologne, clothing commercials) and in film cinema. most of the hits today come from the U.K, Australia, and Germany. When one speaks of electronica dance music, it's not a single groove, but a variety of grooves or rhythms, such as drum n' bass, ambient, rock n' beat, trance, goa, industrial, hi-energy, acid, progressive, dream, house, techno, garage, rave, electro-pop, or a combination of them.
