Jon Mallory
11th Generation :: Gangrel
Pretty much all his life, Jon Mallory was in and out of trouble. He didn't do too well in school, and barely got passed high school. He spent much of his high school life out with his friends. Skipping school, partying at night, roughing up various stranger, getting in fights with other "gangs". Not that he was a member of a gang or anything, but his friends were like his family. His home life was pretty much non-existent. After high school, his friends began to break up as some of them went to college, and others got jobs. He eventually began to drift, so he left his home of Cooperstown, NY at 18.
He spent the next four years drifting from city to city, state to state. He hitched, and hopped trains as his transportation. In each town he found himself, he would frequent the bars and end up hooking up with some "tough guys". He would pull a few shake downs for cash, or work as a bouncer at certain establishments. After about a year and a half on the road he hooked up with this guy Frank that was pulling a job for a local business man. That was Jon's introduction to being muscle. It was exactly what he had been doing, but the money was a lot better.
He ended up bouncing from town to town pulling muscle jobs here and there. He didn't wander as often as before, but he still did wander. Even as a mortal, the wander lust bug bit him. His job also required it, as he would not shy away from the more high profile jobs needed. After pulling one of these, he would have to move on. These were the jobs that went a bit further than just roughing people up, and usually got large attention from the cops. If he was caught, he knew his bosses would never even acknowledge his existence, let alone that they knew him. It was part of the job to him. He knew that with each high profile job, he would move out of state, and hook up with another boss there.
This was his life for a couple of years, and he got good at it. The city became work for him, so he would every so often, take his sweet time gettting to the next place and just hang out in the wilderness between cities. This is where his embrace happened. His embrace was a complete surprise to him. He had already fallen into a habit of sleeping during the day and working at night, so the change in his sleeping habits did not alarm him. He knew something was up when he took a certain job. He was supposed to really rough up a particular individual. He never really knew why, nor did he care. That was status quo, he got a name and how bad he was supposed to hurt a person. This particular job was supposed to leave the poor sap alive, but barely. Well it went a little wrong. As Jon was beating the living tar out of this guy, he noticed that his blows were a little harder and a little quicker. Unfortunately for the guy, this made Jon hesitate which gave his victim a chance to fight back. Well the blows he struck were barely anything to notice, but the act of fighting back stirred something in Jon and he had his first feeding. It wasn't really a frenzy as much as just instinct. He drank the poor sucker (no pun intended :) dry. Without even receiving payment, he fled the state that night.
During his flight, he couldn't get rid of the feeling that he was being followed. It drove him nuts, but he attributed it to shock from what he had just done. Eventually, he came to terms with what he was. He wasn't exactly sure what it meant, but he came to terms with it. He would take the more extreme jobs as often as they became available, always drinking these victims dry then disposing of the body. It was about a year before his sire Gregor made an appearance. He instructed him on what he truly was, and corrected a number of misconceptions. Gregor also informed Jon that the mojority of his life he had been working for Kindred and just not knowing it. The majority of his employers had been Ventrue and Brujah, with a few other exceptions. Jon's name had already been circulated among these clans, and the Gangrel saw him as a sruvivor worthy of the embrace. The decision made, Gregor began his hunt of the boy, and embraced him. His sire revealed to Jon that the other clans were using him like a pawn to manipulate the mortal society for their interests. Jon was not too happy about being a pawn (to say the least), so the Gangrel distrust of others became strongly reinforced within him.
After a short stay with his Sire, Jon went his own way. It is the way of the Gangrel after all. He continued his work from his mortal life, but with more open eyes. He began to watch for the agenda behind the agenda. As he met more Kindred he became more and more distrustful of those outside of his clan; however, he also began to realize that his survival depended on interacting with those of other clans. That's when he met Samantha Wayneright. She was Ventrue, and looking for muscle. That was how they met. He did a few jobs for her before they actually started talking. She saw potential in this Gangrel, who by now had formed his belief that the true power lies in the muscle behind the titles. She revealed to him her desire to become Justicar and maybe even hinted that she would need an Archon she could trust. Shortly after the mention, a business deal was struck. He bacame muscle for this Ventrue, and focused some of his efforts on helping her climb the political ladder. In return, she would give him the job of being the muscle behind her titles. Not being truly interested in titles or politics, Mallory didn't see anything wrong with the deal. Jon does not truly trust her completely, but knowing her to be Ventrue and knowing her desired goal, she is predictable to him. And he believes that as long as he stays away from getting in the way of that, she will not betray him, and more than that, she will make him Archon.
Word of the purge reached both Jon's and Samantha's ears. The resulting vacuum of power was a huge opportunity, one that Samantha could not ignore. Jon's wander lust was beginning to bite at the time, so to kill two birds with one stone, Samantha sent Jon ahead to Seattle.
Arriving in Seattle in October, Jon brought his particular colorful personality with him. Fuck the presentation, fuck politics, fuck everyone who ain't Gangrel. Well that pretty much alienated him. But that's how Jon likes it. Five months and three princes later, Jon is still surviving and actually has begun to collect a following of sorts. An old friend, Jazmine, ended up swinging into town on Jon's request. She's Caitiff by everyone else's knowledge, but Jon has a feeling she's really of clan Gangrel and her sire just lost track of her. It happens to too many of our clan. A couple of months after Jon's arrival, a Brujah by the name of Rath showed up. Now Jon does not usually spend much time with their kind, but he was the only other one in the city who seemed interested in fighting the Sabbat rather than just talking about them. Now Jon is considering taking a short road trip to locate one of his childer and bring her to Seattle.
Either way, Seattle needs to be ready to wake up. The latest Prince finally grew a pair and did the smart thing. Even with next to no Camarilla loyal Kindred in the city, the past princes only talked about the large Sabbat influence and how it was growing. This new prince finally named Rath as Sheriff and Jon as Scourge. Not only that, but he unleashed them on the Sabbat fully. Yeah, Clan Gangrel has offically withdrawn from the Camarilla, but Jon cannot turn away from a fight. He will support the Camarilla within Seattle for as long as their are Sabbat to fight, and they let him do that. Once that changes, fuck 'em!
