Felix Amonte

11th Generation :: Camarilla (?)

Felix seemed to have a normal life as a child. Nothing rather note worthy happened to him. That is until he was a junior in high school. That was the age that all of his friends began to look at the world and, more to the point, the government. They began to notice conspiracies and oppression around them. Felix couldn’t believe that a country that he lived in could be capable of such things.

He began to become politically aware. He started by writing letters to Congress and local businesses. However, nothing seemed to come of it. He soon decided to write to the President. That too seemed to have no effect. He finished out high school in a state of confusion and anger. The following fall he enrolled in Berkley.

College was different. Everyone around him seemed to see the same oppression that he did. They all wanted to do something, but nothing they did in high school seemed to work. After his orientation week in the dorms, the rest of the campus came alive as the returning students arrived. That’s when he met his first protester. He was soon neck deep in the protest culture. Joining this movement and that. Travelling from rally to rally.

It was not long before his protesting began to affect his school work. He was skipping classes to attend marches, passing up studying to make protest signs, and skipping study sessions to help plan rallies. As his grades began to slide, the threat of getting kicked out of school loomed over him. However that soon all changed.

Walking home from a rally planning session, Felix witnessed a prestigious, conservative professor go nuts on a bad LSD trip. It resulted in the death of a student. The professor did not notice Felix and fled. The police resolved the case as a drug overdose, and showed their lack of interest in solving any curious death of a student with their speed of dismissing the case. Felix, however, did not let the incident go away so easily. A special “tutoring” session with the professor seemed to change Felix’s academic prowess over night. His grades improved dramatically, and he no longer was in danger of flunking out of school.

He remained in college for a short time longer, then dropped out. School no longer held an importance with him, he saw that the real power was knowledge, but not the knowledge you gained in school. He began traveling the country and hooking up with the local protest communities. As he traveled, he continued to see how watching from the shadows and learning dark secrets gave him influence and power. He became obsessed with learning every dark secret he could.

After a few years on the road, Felix found himself in Seattle. Felix fell in love with Seattle immediately. The days would find him wandering the city and surrounding country. There were plenty of protests to help him fill the days. The nights found him in the shadows, searching out those dark secrets of influential people. In this search, Felix caught notice of another secret seeker. However, Felix never seemed to get a good look at this stranger. He simply caught glimpses out of the corner of his eye, or a flash of movement in the shadows.

One night, Felix spotted the stranger and tried to follow him. The shadowy figure weaved down back alleys and seemed to vanish. Felix walked into the alley and looked around for any clue to where the stranger had gone. His eye knew that something was not right with the scene, so he stood and stared.

It must have been five minutes before he noticed that a manhole cover to the sewers was not completely closed. The lid was slightly raised on one side. Cautiously, Felix moved to the cover and lifted it aside. One look into the darkness and Felix was hit with a brilliant idea. He put back the manhole cover and head home for the night.

The next night he returned to the same alley, this time with a flashlight and a map of the city sewer lines. He quickly entered the sewers, and began navigating the city from the sewer lines. He found it even easier to over hear conversations on the street without getting spotted. He turned his attention from the influential people of the city to whoever was on the street above him. Night after night he returned, building his knowledge of the residents of this city.

One night, while returning from his listening, Felix began to wonder about that dark stranger that gave him this idea. He had not run into the shadowy figure since that night he followed it to the alley. Arriving at his manhole exit to the street he began to climb. Just then, the manhole moved aside silently. Felix froze. He was amazed at how silently it moved. He feared that he would be discovered, but could not move to prevent it from happening.

A shadowy figure jumped into the manhole, and landed right on Felix’s hands. He screamed and fell, the shadow falling as well. Felix recovered as quickly as he could, and jumped back against the wall of the sewer. That’s when Felix saw it for the first time; Alexander Amonte. The Nosferatu did not expect a mortal to be climbing out of the sewers at that time of night. The surprise was enough to distract Alexander enough that he let his obfuscate drop. There stood Alexander, in his full grotesque appearance before Felix.

Felix nearly passed out with fear. Before him stood the most grotesque creature he could imagine. There were no words to describe it. Struggling to find his courage, Felix began to move towards the ladder. Escape the only thing on his mind.

Alexander watched Felix closely. He knew him to be a mortal, yet he had also seen Felix move among the shadows. He knew that this mortal seemed to have a passion for seeking secrets, a favorite past time of Alexander’s as well. Yet, now this mortal stood before him, a threat to the Masquerade. Subduing Felix, Alexander pled a case before his Primogen, asking if the Primogen would speak to the Prince asking permission for the embrace.

The request was granted. Felix soon crossed over from the living to the undead, Alexander Amonte his Sire. The Nosferatu clan accepted Felix with open arms, and he found his haven within the sewers that gave him birth. He was quick to pick up his new found skills that helped him in gathering information. He discovered the shadows as a way of life, a way to hide his deformities as well as learn things.

He remained in Seattle for may years. Solitude within the sewers paying it’s price on his mind, but not his memory. Then he began to hear rumors of a town named Ashland. A place where few Nosferatu lived, yet many secrets hid. It was too tempting to ignore. Felix spoke to his Primogen and received his blessing to travel to Ashland.

Shortly after arriving in Ashland, Felix found a new haven within the sewers of a run down section of town known as the Barrens. The rumors of few Nosferatu and many secrets quickly proved to be true. Felix found his new home, and a place to play his information game.

Felix walks among the shadows, ever watching. He has never been one to get involved in politics, and especially avoids any confrontation. Some may call him a coward, but he does not see anything gained from fighting, except enemies. He would rather learn the secrets of those in power, sitting in the shadows watching all that goes on around him. He has been known to manipulate his appearance to look like people he feels others would not dream of picking a fight with out of respect or fear. So next time you think you see Chuck Norris, or Clint Eastwood sitting in the corner of a local bar, ask yourself if they really would be interested in that place. If not, you may have just spotted a curious Nosferatu seeking to discover your darkest secrets.
