Actually I think the quote is, "A horse, my kingdom for a horse!" but I like my parody better!!

          Legends have always fascinated people throughout the centuries, and I'm certainly no exception! They have been the subject of many books, movies, and studies, and STILL the interest lasts on!

          My particular favourites are, Robin Hood, King Arthur, and "Nessie", or The Loch Ness Monster.

          My favourite movie concerning King Arthur was the recent TV movie "Merlin" 1998, starring the marvelously talented and very handsome Sam Neill.

     

          The movie "Excalibur" 1981 was also quite well done, if a little overblown and graphically violent.

          My favourite movies of Robin Hood are:

• "The Adventures of Robin Hood" 1938, with the ever mischievous, and charming Errol Flynn! Very Hollywood, but who could resist him?!!

• "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" 1991. Very realistic portrayl of the times for the most part. The deliciously wicked Alan Rickman and the wonderfully talented Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio are the highlights in this film.

  

• Finally, "Robin Hood, Men in Tights" This is a gloriously funny spoof of the Robin Hood movies!! It had me rolling on the floor laughing!! Cary Elwes and Roger Rees are superb and have obviously throughly researched the men they're spoofing!!!

          Haven't seen any movies on Nessie, but the speculation lives on!!!
