The X-Girls' History
Written by: MSTieMom(Sandy)
Once a time, in the year 1996, on AOL, there was a place where a handsome prince was worshipped from afar. The prince was named David.
A lot of ladies came to worship the prince and tell each other what a wonderful fellow the prince was and what wonderful eyes he had and how beautiful was his mouth and how lovely his chin when it was unshaven, and what a great tush he had. And there was much rejoycing. And the ladies were called the X Girls, by their own choosing.
But the ladies got too exuberant in their praise of the prince and they used language that the gods found unworthy and so the gods were forced to slap the ladies' wrists. Many times. This made the ladies very angry. But they promised to be good. And they were true to their word. And them some new ladies came and complained that the ladies talked waaay too much about themselves and their families and not nearly enough about the prince. But the ladies said "So what? We were here first." and all seemed well. And then someone must have angered the AOL gods because a message went out that all messages between the ladies in this place meant for those who worshipped Prince David must be about Prince David and only about Prince David. The ladies were stunned. There had been no warnings, no mention of any kind that they were in any way mis-behaving by exchanging personal information about themselves and their families. Angered, the ladies left the place of worship, and went to a private place (Email) where they could worship as they chose. And also exchange recipes and child care advice. But one brave lady, known as Princess Teacup, also known as Lamarama, went to the gods and asked, politely, "Perhaps we ladies, the X Girls, could have a place of our own where we could be as we are, talk as we wish (although we will be good about our language and will post no recipes for explosives!), if it please your lordships." And it did. The AOL gods supplied a place for the X Girls to be themselves as they were. To praise Prince David and exchange recipes and child care advice and other things of interest to ladies of all ages. And again there was much rejoycing.
Then new ladies joined. Many new ladies. And also distinguished gentlemen. And so it became time to grow and expand. And the Lady Quickmoon did stand forth and say, "Yea, I will create for us, a webpage!!" And she did.
