This is the fourth image in the series, and features Outenkun with Chou Koumei. Even the first two sketches were difficult. The original was completely different than this one. The second sketch from the original finished version of this had Outenkun standing in the close foreground, with Koumei far behind him, and drawn very badly. I had tried to draw Koumei as pretty as he looks in the manga, but it failed badly. When it came time to redo this image, I thought perhaps I would only have to redraw Koumei, but I started to see too many flaws on Outenkun's side of the sketch, plus the sketch had been badly smudged over the years. So the sketch had to be drawn completely over. To attempt to draw Koumei correctly this time around, I searched for a scan of his cover issue, and followed it somewhat closely for his body. Then, for Outenkun, I tried to make his outfit look like a modified version of what Koumei is wearing, in dress form.

Chou Koumei is an amusing character. He acts (and looks) like a sort of dashing, dandy-ish, prince from a girl-manga. He also has ... interesting ideas of what is beautiful. He adores his three sisters, considers them 'great beauties', even though most other people would say these same sisters are hideous. If I remember correctly, he was one of the main generals under Dakki against Taikoubou, so I decided for this picture that it is possible that at some point Koumei may have decided to "spruce up" the outfits of Dakki's other followers, including Outenkun. Hence the dress on a cranky Outenkun.

The first version was sketched and colored in late 2000 or early 2001. This version was re-sketched, re-inked, scanned, and coloured in June 2003. Colouring done with Wacom Graphire tablet in Paint Shop Pro 6 and 8.
